Green Network Energy is ceasing to trade

EDF can afford to tell people that they won't pay more than they would have paid with GNE because they won't be honouring the warm home discount applications, almost all of which would have been at the 'application pending' stage at the point of transfer. Hence lots of people in difficult or vulnerable circumstances will end up paying £140 more than they would have if they'd been able to remain with GNE and this will subsidise those customers who are not in difficult or vulnerable circumstances. It's whitewash to suggest that nobody will pay more when clearly plenty of people will be £140 out of pocket.0

@leitmotif - As I read it your comment is not quite true
From MSE :Will I still get any Warm Home Discount payment I am due?Yes, EDF says it will pay all outstanding Warm Home Discount payments to Green Network Energy's 12,000 eligible customers. If you get Warm Home Discount payments automatically each year, you should be paid this by March as normal. If you've applied for it, EDF says it will honour the payment provided you've received confirmation that your application was successful.ThanksThe MoneySavingExpert Cheap Energy Club teamNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Well as I suspect quite a few cancelled their DDs I have emailed OFGEM to ask if a company that has ceased trading can do this.
Also regarding Warm Weather discount. As this has disappeared off their system difficult to know if you have qualified!0 -

My direct debit to GNE was due to be paid today, but I had cancelled my direct debit. As others have noted, including @Gary1963 , the daily SC on my gas and electric tariffs has been increased presumably as a result of this cancellation. But I should be currently paying an unknown EDF tariff so I don't think this affects me (?). However, since EDF seem to be allocating new tariffs based on customers previous GNE tariffs, I've re-instated my direct debit now in the hope the GNE daily SC will revert to what it was, and EDF use that tariff for comparison purposes!0 -

Hi, I have a question which hopefully The MoneySavingExpert Cheap Energy Club team can clarify if indeed true. I was called by Simply Switch this morning, they stated that the EDF statement of " we guarantee all customers will see a price decrease versus their current tariff until at least 30 September 2021^. is not factual and only until the date your GNE tariff would have ended. In my case this is the beginning of March. I pointed out I had received not only the EDF email but also an email from The MoneySavingExpert Cheap Energy Club and also watching the Martin Lewis television show all stating the same information. Simply Switch informed me they had investigated this, and had it confirmed it was only up to the end of your GNE fixed tariff date. Does anyone have any further information on this, as this potentially makes a big difference.0

(https://www.edfenergy.com/content/welcoming-green-network-energy-customers)Is EDF part of the Warm Home Discount (WHD) scheme?
Yes, however, our Warm Home Discount scheme has closed for new applications for 2020/21. Please visit our Warm Home Discount page for more details on the scheme.
If you've already successfully applied for the scheme with the Green Network Energy, please read our FAQ ' Will I still receive my Warm Home Discount payment?' below.
To me, 'already successfully applied' implies that one's WHD application needs to have already been accepted.
Separately, several of us have noticed that our WHD application statuses were at 'pending' at the end of January and that GNE has removed the WHD tab in our accounts, as a result of which we can no longer track the status and see when 'pending' switches to 'approved'. That's a rather odd thing for GNE to have done.
