Out of interest I put a meter reading in on the 31st of January. Will GNE be billing to that date and will that be the reading that they use and pass to EDF? I started a move on the 29th so not sure what will happen!

    Supplier Details

    Green Network Energy

    08005200202

    Still showing on database.

Yes and then EDF will Bill from then until your switch completion date
  • Reinstated DD yesterday and my original tariff is now showing.
  • Ofgem response on warm home discount applications.

"Customers will not lose their Warm Home Discount. EDF will pay the Warm Home Discount of former customers of Green Network Energy who had been informed that they are eligible as part of the Broader Group. Former customers of Green Network Energy who are in the Warm Home Discount Core Group (that is people in receipt of Pension Credit Guarantee Credit), who are yet to receive their Warm Home Discount, will be paid the rebate."

This looks a little ominous for those in the broader group whose applications had not been approved at the time of GNE ceasing trading.

    Hello,
I have been reading this thread with interest, as one of the circa 350k former GNE customers presently being ported over to EDF.
I have had a look on the EDF website for unit rates and standing charges for the introductory tariffs being set-up for the ex-GNE customers. I came across the following page relating to Tariff Information Labels, which allows you to enter your postcode, fuel type, payment method, meter type.
    https://my.edfenergy.com/gas-electricity/tariff-information-labels?_ga=2.46069348.1734921440.1612948427-1265966894.1612453943
In the Tariff Name list, it displays the following tariffs of interest:
    Welcome GNE Variable Prepay
    Welcome GNE Variable v1
    Welcome GNE Variable v2
    Welcome GNE Variable v3
    Welcome GNE Variable v4
    Welcome GNE Variable v5
Unfortunately, you might have to select each of these in turn, but then click Get Tariff Information.
Scroll to the bottom where it displays Previous tariffs and tariffs not available direct from EDF Energy
Click on Payment type (Direct Debit, Cash/Cheque,Prepayment, PAYG) then Payment Period (e.g. Budget Monthly, Monthly, Quarterly).
Click on the Meter Type for Electricity TIL and/or Gas TIL (such as Standard, Economy 7, etc.)
and it should show the unit rates and standing charges for the selected tariff, to compare against what you were paying at GNE.
I suppose the unknown factor is which of these six tariffs an ex-GNE customer will be put on to.
This may not be 100% accurate but at least it might give an approximate benchmark.

Edf seem to be only quoting variable rates.  What are the chances they will rise before my GNE fix runs out in June or will they remain below till end of September?

While all the new EDF tariffs are variable, it says they'll be no changes to the rates on any of these tariffs until the end of September – even if your fixed rate was due to end before this.

I've not looked at this thread for a while, as all i've had are 2 standard emails (containing no details whatsoever)  both exactly the same, but 10 days apart, from EDF.
Is it now being suggested that the 'your rate will be lower' claim is actually based on moving me to a variable tariff?
Are all GNE fixed tariffs being moved to EDF variable tariffs?
