  • I've not looked at this thread for a while, as all i've had are 2 standard emails (containing no details whatsoever)  both exactly the same, but 10 days apart, from EDF.
Is it now being suggested that the 'your rate will be lower' claim is actually based on moving me to a variable tariff?
Are all GNE fixed tariffs being moved to EDF variable tariffs?
Yes, all the new EDF tariffs are variable. There are updated details at the MSE news item https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2021/01/new-supplier-revealed-for-green-network-energy-customers/

I've also noticed that the new EDF tariffs have been added to the MSE Cheap Energy Club list of tariffs for EDF.

Reinstated DD yesterday and my original tariff is now showing.

Looks like no exit fees for those who initiaited switch themselves - My Gas switch to ironically  EDF :D that I started day before GNE ceased trading completed today, I noticed yesterday agreement finish date had been changed from 2022 :)
Agreement start date  20/01/2021     Agreement end date   14/02/2021
Exit fee (if you cancel this tariff more than 49 days before the end date)  £21.87

I assume those of us that initiated a switch before 31st of January will be billed by GNE and EDF will have nothing to do with it. My switch completes 21st .

Not heard a thing. My switch completes on the 21st.
GNE still showing on Data Base as supplier.
I took a reading on the 31st and will again on the switch day.

I received one e-mail from EDF on 1st February just saying that EDF have taken over and then we will receive a welcome pack.
Other e-mails from EDF I think were just marketing and not specific to the GNE situation - cannot be entirely sure though.
I've no doubt it takes a while to process 360k customer porting, but would simply like to get to the other side.
