Out of interest how have you re-instated your direct debit ? - I can't see the option to do this.
I'm with Nationwide and under their section to "manage payees", there is a list of cancelled direct debits and an option to re-instate them.
Santander 0800 9 123123  agent re-instated direct debit, I asked when would GNE know DD had been re-instated, answer I got was need to inform GNE that DD had been re-instated otherwise GNE wont know that it has been :* LOL
Obviously can take screenshot of Banking page showing DD is active with date, I was hoping to avoid having to query/chase GNE final bill as regards higher standing charge costs
My switch out date is 15th February, Next DD due 20th February - more than ample credit
Change in SC rate should only be effective from when DD was cancelled, should not affect Bill up tp 31 January

I'm due to switch 21st. If final bill is incorrect then will have to deal with whoever produces it. Downloaded last bill with correct tariff information.

Well as I suspect quite a few cancelled their DDs I have emailed OFGEM to ask if a company that has ceased trading can do this.
Also regarding Warm Weather discount. As this has disappeared off their system difficult to know if you have qualified!
I would have thought that if you are in debt to the company, the administrators have every right to do that if you've just made it more expensive for them to collect the debt :open_mouth:

I'm actually in credit. I have calculated the bill to the 31st January and they owe me.

GNE account has automatically updated to reflect DD back in force, next payment date/payment due date/amount etc all blank ....

Same here too. I didn't need to contact GNE to say my DD was reinstated, and they've already reverted my daily SC to what it was previously. The "payment due" section is blank.

Good to know, I'll just speak to my bank and get them to hopefully reinstate it

Just reinstated mine with Nationwide. I was told by GNE that it would take 10 days to reflect this on my account. Obviously its a bit quicker.
  • Just done the same.  All depends on whether the status of the direct debits has already been passed over to EDF.

EDF Twitter reply to someone yesterday "We are currently working with GEN and Ofgem to transfer all customers over and this will take some time. We will be in touch in the coming weeks with further details."
