Same here, cancelled my DD as switch out is due to complete on 15th with DD due on 20th, am in significant credit didnt see why I should have another payment possibly taken out.
Obviously no option to reinstate the DD now, so looks like going to have a fight on my hands when they eventually generate a bill, am assuming noting I can do at the moment.Maybe those who are already switching out of GNE who cancelled direct debits due to having more than sufficient credit to prevent another payment being taken after switched out date are thinking they might be in-appropriately billed at non direct debit rates until switched out date thus assume going to have to engage and maybe battle/fight to be correctly billed at direct debit rates"but it’s an easy process to resolve when you set it back up" ? Not applicable in above scenerio0 -
"You’ll move to an EDF tariff, which is different from the one you had with Green Network Energy. We guarantee that all customers will see a price decrease versus your current tariff until 30 September 2021.We'll calculate your bill value from the date we were appointed up to 30 September 2021, and if there is no decrease we'll apply a credit to your account accordingly.
Your new tariff will have no exit fees and your prices will be in your welcome pack. You can choose one of our fixed tariffs if you wish - but we ask that you please wait until we have confirmed your transfer to us is complete."
I appreciate the new EDF tariffs that GNE customers will be on have not yet been communicated with us, but it seems there may be a possibility that to benefit from this 'price decrease guarantee', ex-GNE customers might have to remain with EDF (and quite possibly stay on the same tariff) until the end of September 2021 - or indeed their first bill after 30 Sept - in order to receive any such credit.0 -
Hi,E-mail from Green today to say they are doubling my DD. They only have estimated readings since start of contract. I am not even at house because of travel restrictions. Are they allowed to do this given they are bust? i presume this is actually Eon communicating using Green database. Question is - What should I do? No answer from Green of course0

They don't just double your DD for the fun of it . I suggest if you look at your bill then it probably already shows a debt and the present DD isn't enough to balance out at the end of your fix.
PS Green isn't GNE which is what this thread is about with EDF taking over.and nothing to do with EonNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

- "green" (website address green.energy), full company name is "Green Supplier Limited"
- Green Energy UK, full company name is "Green Energy (UK) plc"
- Green Star Energy, which is now part of Shell Energy
- Green Network Energy, the company this thread is about which has just ceased trading

Still no news of administrators appointed for GNE.
We will publish contact details here when these are available. From OFGEM website.

I am not sure whether anyone from GNE has yet received communication from EDF. I assume it may well be too quick.
It is just I have received what appear to be general marketing e-mails from EDF, but I can't work out whether they are because of the GNE situation, or simply because I am approaching the time of year when a fix would be ending and EDF maybe kept a record on file from past-years enquiry. I am assuming the e-mails are general marketing stuff and I can ignore.
Does anyone know if the GNE switch e-mails from EDF are obviously related to GNE's demise?
Although I am approaching switch time, my plan is to see what EDF offer and then go elsewhere if the deal is not competitive. According to the EDF public announcements, the new tariff should continue my rate that I was on with GNE when they failed, and I would stay with that.0
