4/15 NSDs, a short walk in a snow flurry, 1000ml water, batch-cooked butternut squash soup for lunch, meal-planned Malaysian curry for dinner.
Last night I finished my current book which means I’ve done two of the three things I set myself this month in order to buy myself a treat at the end of it. The final box I need to tick is ‘no takeaways’.
Had another busy day at work. One of my colleagues is very unwell at the moment, struggling, so I’ve had a bit of cover to do. It’s fine. I just hope a she’s ok. It’s been a bit difficult to concentrate at work because she’s been in my thoughts all day.
Grateful for a walk, a new book, and to be well.

NSD #4 for me today. Had a long day at work including an evening meeting. Had late lunch with leftovers of veggie roast and a quick walk too.
mothernerd - wise words as always. I have used 'this too shall pass' when i've had difficult times
Gratitudes: tricky meeting went ok; supportive colleagues at PT role; warm bed - thanks to 2 x hot water bottles:)

Gratitudes - Crème eggs. My dogs. Two healthy rabbits.
House bunny........hmmm. His history has been sent to specialists. Friday he was a mess, Saturday and Sunday he improved and today he has seemed normal but has developed a sore hock in the last 24hours. So we are in a holding pattern.
Other than that today was a bust as I had a headache so don't remember much. I didn't spend any money.Nevertheless she persisted.8 -
Saturday and Sunday were NSDs so on 6/ 15. Today I had an early appointment at the clinic in the next town up (nearly £8 each way in a taxi) so have done other shopping from my list. Snow first thing - path and pavement were covered when I went to get in the taxi (scary, scary) but the sun came out when I was in the clinic and it was fine when I got back. Mum had told me not to take the keys with me (knock when I got back). 10 minutes I was out there. I asked the postwoman to knock on the front window as I had padlocked the gate behind me, so was trapped in the yard. Knocked on the door, went round to the back and finally tried using the end of a broom to press the doorbell (outside the gate).
Made good progress on sorting my room over the weekend and had everything to hand (clothes, toiletries, medicines, plus the huge list of things I needed in my bag to take to the appointment with me). 4 loads of washing over the past 2 days - was going to put a load on the line but it snowed again, so did what I could with the radiators and settled to working on my new embroidery project. Tried to go out as it was getting dark to do a little more tidying outside but it snowed for a third time, so no digging (did break up the ice on two buckets). Internet playing up again so did a food order (delivery tomorrow) in case we get more snow. Ordered my replacement lamp - eyes are still sore and really need it for sewing an dreading. Have to protect what is left of my sight. Found mum some films to watch and retired to my room to read and do a puzzle and was ready to curl up and sleep by 9 pm.
Today I am grateful for the appointment being a safe pleasant experience, for the cauli cheese I made previously making a simple warming, comforting lunch, being warm enough (have a bit of hw bottle envy). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -

Children begin by loving their parents. Later they judge them. Sometimes they forgive them Oscar Wilde
[Dracula giving his son 'the talk']
Dracula; you see when two monsters love each other, they....
Dracula's son: they do the mash
Dracula: *nodding* they do the monster mash
Spike: I know you'll never love me. I know that I'm a monster. But you treat me like a man
When you're a kid, they tell you it's all.....grow up. Get a job. Get married. Get a house. Have a kid. And that's it.
But the truth is, the world is so much stranger than that. It's so much darker. And so much madder. And so much better. Dr Who
Lost a post in the early hours of this morning (still awake but it was today). Was trying to find the more interesting quotes and avoid the commercial tat and entered a song lyric and found myself in a strange and beautiful place (lyrics, movies, vampires). So I'm giving you this for now (sneezing my head off so I'm about to take my pills with a cup'o'soup). Will be back later if my head clears. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5 -

NSD No 7
Woke up to heavy snow this morning and it's been snowing off and on all day. The wee ones love it. They've been sledging, making snowmen and, the highlight of their day, pelting Himself with snowballs. I'm glad I made that big pot of minestrone soup yesterday. Definitely soup for dinner weather.
Got some things off the list but, honestly, couldn't be bothered leaving the warmth of the living room so I've been watching old cookery programmes for most of the day. Found some nice dishes that I might be capable of making.
Making sure all the birds have something to eat but Mr Peanuts must be too cold. He hasn't even come down for his breakfast.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Not NSD - as I hadn't been to l1d1 in a while (don't do multiple shops if I can help it right now, even if it means I spend more
) they sent me another 5 off 25 spend voucher - so as I needed basics like milk and fruit and veg I thought I'd go there. Plus they do a really nice German ham, so also picked up 2 packs of that. One of this week's coupons was 15% off c1en toiletries so I stocked up on some of those, too
And they are selling super cheap seeds - so I got 1 tomatoes (already have some saved from last year), courgette, carrots, pumpkin and some pretty flower seeds
Will start some off later this month (maybe next week during half term thinking about it....)
Thankful for an unexpected coupon, central heating, DS2's brilliant grade card, l1d1 bakery items 😋I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £206 -
