Still tired despite a great night's sleep. Treating myself gently and have done lots of sewing (using up lots of short lengths of thread). A few trips round the yard filling bags with broken, rusty or green mouldy items, took two coir compost blocks to the bottom of the yard and filled them with frozen water from lots of buckets. Food delivery arrived and most is now away. Internet problems today and yesterday evening but thankfully did not have to get on the floor (went behind the chair but not to the floor) just lots of messing - got it working, it went back off. My life is full of adventure - every time I have to get down on the floor, I have no idea if or how I will get up again.
Did food order last night as a snow precaution (there were meals I could make but run out of some things) and a further order for some things off the list. Lamp is definitely needed for reading and sewing (want to keep what sight I have), 2 candlesticks which have been in the basket for weeks (modern version of an old fashioned type with an integral saucer ,- half a drawer full of candles for which we have no holder) and if we get power cuts we would both have a candle 'to light us to bed'. Plus more craft stuff for making cards, mum is very happy with the two she has made. Lots of happy birthday stickers and some borders. I did have another part filled basket but it got lost when the internet conked out - I was toggling between two sites checking that I wasn't paying over the odds. I knew the food order had gone through but not sure about the other one. By the time everything was sorted I had lost my limited enthusiasm for shopping. Not done it today either, may wait and see what we can do with what we have (I've paid mum for my lamp and given her money towards the craft supplies as well as sacrificing part of a decorative candle box and a star off my box covering wallpaper) and wait until it is another spend day. So now on 7 NSDs and 40 items out today (no cash only junk removed).
Today I am thankful for my bed (going to go and stretch to remove a few kinks from my back), for enjoying sewing my little birdhouse and for interesting food (some for celebrating Chinese new year and a huge box of chicken breasts - got a few days to use them). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -
Thanks for all the advice re the energy DD, I'm still waiting for a reply from them so was just exploring my options. Not sure how I'll even be able to reduce the DD if they don't acknowledge messages!
Been working like mad the last couple of days. The snow hasn't been heavy enough to enjoy but just heavy enough to cause disruption lol. I don't think we're expecting any more. Need to collect a prescription but too cold to leave the house!
Grateful for doing my first workout since my back procedure, being warm and snug indoors and getting rid of some cases at work.7 -
Top up shop today keeps me on 4/15 NSDs.
No walks, but sledging down big hills and climbing back up was no walk in the park.
Had the last of the 0lio mushroom soup for lunch, and meal-planned spaghetti bolognaise for dinner.
Started my new book last night, and looking forward to picking it up again tonight when I go to bed (soon!)
Grateful for spectacular snow, sledging fun with DS, and getting work done that I’ve procrastinated on.

Today I am grateful for bus drivers, for helpful people, for a long but useful online meeting (so glad I wasn't there in person, as it lasted over 90mins and with my camera off, I could potter on with a jigsaw!), for my book, for dd's online editing skills.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7

Still NSD 4/15. As I was essentially spending today (cheese) so I also paid our invoice for having our boiler serviced to save an NSD later on hopefully. I did have to use my cc today for a good reason - my elderly neighbour posted a note through my door asking me to order a bouquet of flowers for his wife as it’s their wedding anniversary on Sunday 💕. He explained he doesn’t know how to use the internet and couldn’t use the phone as she will hear him. He will give me the cash but we all know what happens with that!! Had a 30 minute walk and decluttered and tidied the bottom of ds wardrobe, although he’s insistent in keeping all 4 backpacks he has in there!! A few things can be donated to the local community hub so was worth doing 😇. I spent an hour decluttering my car, and my key rings!! Productive day off and grateful for a cold but sunny day. Online food shop done and on budget so hoping for a few NSDs now.Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£2608

Hi all
NSD #5 today. Woke up early and logged onto work at 8. We had a team meeting but our boss was half an hour late as he got the time wrong so was enjoying a bath and leisurely breakfast! We all had a nice chat, good to 'see' colleagues. Had phone call with DD2 at lunch. Finished work when it was still light so went for a long chilly walk. Dyed my roots this eve and seems to have worked! No more video calls being dazzled by my grey streak
Now cosy in bed with my 2 hot water bottles
Gratitudes - good colleagues; getting washing almost dry on the line; escapism TV (grand designs, escape to the chateau)

Tuesday- NSD 6/15.
It's getting really cold, -7 overnight last night, and I don't think it got above 0 all day. I know its winter and its "supposed" to be cold, but I've had enough of it! We have had a bit more snow, enough now to be very inconvenient- but lots more sledging after school.
lcc- I can change my DD in my online account.
Gratitudes today- sledging and fun in the snow (when I'm not at work I do quite like it), cuddles with all the animals, snuggles with DD watching TV, a catch-up phone call with a family member.9 -
Hi I'm back, my lap top charger cable broke and all my accounts are on my laptop - so actually nice with a short brake.
I m fairly proud of myself, and even if my Ef is now in a slump - I have new glasses, new/old bed and my car is serviced and MOT'ed. A new better me. I have been to the skip twice with large double bed and mattress. That was quite a performance. A single bed i my bedroom gives me a lot more space and the other one broke dec 19 and was propped up with old dictionaries!
I also paid my son for his glasses, but he keeps spending all his money on weights! At what point should that become a worry? He is doing pe at uni so a bit of a sports nut, but still? He is so bored at the moment. I really hope he can get back to his sport soon.
Hope everybody is well and I need to catch up on my budget and on reading on here - 3 days and then I've got a week off. Hallway is now overdue to get decorated!Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Apparently it's also LGBTQ+ History Month (lovely photo in my feed yesterday - a group of men arrested in Mexico for being homosexuals in 1935 so whilst they were in the police station they did a group photo - gorgeous, fabulous and brave) so if you are celebrating (???) you could go with rainbows instead of (yukky pink or red) hearts (or little red devils, save those for MUFC fans). Whoever you love (children, your dog, the post/ parcel/ food deliverers and refuse collectors keeping us sane and well) let them know - my notes on the bins were much admired.
Not said anything about Black History Month (need to try and track down something I saw before the start of the month). In the meantime, go with Banksey Be like the Panda - he's Black, he's White. he's Asian (an extra theme for Chinese New year, home schoolers)

Hello everyone. NSD 5 today... I’m calling it. No takeaways in this household so far this week. I know it’s only Wednesday but that’s good.
Have been to gym, have eaten well. Called parents for a chat.
Need to speak to my sisters individually but they are hard to pin down! Will keep persevering.
Not finding much motivation to plan classes properly. Think I need to organise my day better as most of my classes are in the evenings now, and I’m just so much better in the morning.
Grateful for warm sunshine, for bf cooking.
