Mini Challenge. This week we will be focusing on Faith, Love and Wisdom
Faith is not necessarily religious faith (although that's fine if it works for you) but like hope a belief that things will get better' 'This Too Shall Pass', the sun will return and the dark days will be gone. I believe in the collective power of human beings to work towards a better future (caring for all the people of the world and its other inhabitants and ecosystem - the planet cares for us and we should respect it in return, heal the damage that has been done). Think globally, act locally.
Today is National Kite Flying Day so maybe you can fly a few 'kites' and think beyond the mundane.
Love is not just between two people (although again if that works for you), certainly not the commercial version that will be peddled this month. One of the most misquoted passages in the bible is 'Charity begins at home' (the 3 great virtues being faith, hope and charity where charity = love). I hate it because people who quote it, frequently seem to mean that it should end there. That anyone not in their immediate circle or that they do not deem 'worthy' should be denied charity (love, compassion, care, simple kindness). To me love is boundless (I will admit I am far better at loving 'people' in the abstract, I don't suffer fools gladly, or at all).
The passage means that love should start in the home, treating our family members with care (and ourselves) but should then flow out from there to family, friends, neighbours, acquaintances and the wider community. Love for those we know and for strangers, for those close to home and those far away. If our society does not care for the sick, the elderly, the less able, the vulnerable then it needs changing.
Wisdom International Book Giving Day is on the 14th. I'm one of those people who would be quite happy to curl up inside a book and live there (or indeed in the original library that I joined at the age of 7). I love books. Nearly everything is on the internet these days but it's good to have access to books (not saying that just because my eyes ache from trying to follow a pattern on screen). Wisdom comes in many forms. We can be wise after the event (learn from it, do better next time). We can be wise enough to know when we should keep our mouths shut and when to speak out (a skill many of us never learn, most have the occasional slip up). We can learn from those around us, from books, in formal classes, through experience.

hahaha Mothernerd... I love it... Let’s turn it around and make those aliens proud of us!
Exercise done today. Started a new book, meditated last night and this morning. I feel good. Did a little top up shop today €8. Happy that my lack of morning classes on Mondays makes for a slow and mindful start to the week... will knuckle down to class planning now.
Grateful for my what's app book club group, for my bed being SO comfy, for mini-epiphanies.

Slightly annoyed this morning, I set up a DD for my credit card car debt as they turned off online banking recently so I thought it would be easier. They took the DD out today when the statement isn't due until the 16th! They didn't give me the option of requesting a date so I assumed they would set it up to come out at the statement date. This date makes no sense as it's too late to apply to the previous statement and too early for the next one. So now I have to make another payment when the statement comes in... not impressed.
The snow is still coming down, was meant to be doing some visits today for work but cancelled them as I hate driving in this weather, I'm not confident and had a bad experience a few years ago. So am staying tucked up with my blanket and hot water bottle!
Question for turtles, I have requested some credit back from my current energy provider, haven't had a response yet. Just wondering if I cancel my DD for a couple of months would that have any impact on my tariff? I know how tricky it can be to get your money back sometimes.7 -

Been snowing on and off all day and freezing but not as cold as where my brother lives in Canada. -29 yesterday and getting colder. Now, that's proper cold.
Getting back into the routine now the weekend has gone. Household chores and washing done. List of things to do this weeks written down. Chilli in slow cooker and minestrone soup made for tomorrow. Lots of veg used.
Nice early night with book, cup of tea and a bit of cake, I think.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
Brrrr! We have a 'feels like' of -7 here today. Got 2 messages telling me 2 of my kids are doing really well in their school work. Did a good turn for another human being.lcc - do not cancel your regular payment. Even if your balance is in credit. If you leave them, they have 2 weeks to refund your credit, you can go elsewhere for a month, then go back to them if they are the cheapest. Bit of a faff, but you get your money back. Threaten to leave them if they do not refund you the money or drop your regular payment by enough to give you your money back within 4 months of reduced payments.Right, off to work again. See you tomorrow.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

NSD remains on 4/15. I ordered a diary for 21/22 mindlessly! I know I need a few bits tomorrow so should have waited as not urgent! I need to save these purchases until a needed spend day and either I didn’t really need it or won’t lose a NSD because of it. Or, I could have a planned ‘spend day’ once a week and only spend on that day. Anyone else do that?
Went for a 30 min walk with ds earlier. It was freezing 🥶! Grateful for a warm home and straight forward school work for ds.
keep warm & safe people!

Today I am grateful for a good day's work, for understanding kids when my wifi kept dropping out, for a good walk with dd, for bumping into a couple of friends whilst out, for being safe and warm.

Monday- NSD 5/15. It's so cold, DD was sledging after school which she enjoyed, but it was FREEZING! More snow due tonight, so will see what tomorrow brings.
I am going to have a 15 minute tidy/throw out/clean up session in the kitchen/family room once DD is in bed. If I write it down it has to happen.
lcc- I wouldn't cancel the DD but you could possibly reduce it?
Grateful today- for a bunch of village kids enjoying the sledging field and coming home to a cosy house.6
