@Deni_debt-free_dreamer - I enjoyed Liza T’s show today too. Radio has been a little pleasure for me the whole of lockdown.
Today our weekly groceries arrived so not a NSD. I think I’m on 3/15. No walk, but did do a good amount of housework in between playing games with DS.
I had some leftover apples and cranberry juice this week - today I stewed the apples in the cranberry juice and made a tasty crumble pudding. I’ve also got 3 carrots leftover so I need to use them up in something - probably a soup.
I’ve promised myself a wee treat if I do the following 3 things this month:
- Finish my current course
- Finish my current book
- No takeaways
I finished my course yesterday - already signed up for another. I should also finish my book by next weekend and I’ve got a new one lined up for when I do. OH has been reading The Thursday Murder Club and says it’s great. It’s about four friends who live in a retirement village who meet up to investigate unsolved murders.
Grateful for a productive day at home, free courses, the radio, and time with my OH and DS.

Wednesday ended up being a small spend day, as I ordered my Nana's birthday present online (a book she asked for). Will drop it off next time we visit.
Thursday was a spend day, I did a big protein haul. I don't eat enough protein in my diet, as I don't like eating too much meat, and I don't like much of it, so I supplement it. That awful time of the month started, which explains why I've felt rubbish and had all the chocolate!Friday was a spend day, ended up ordering lunch.
Today has been food shop day, and I've ordered some vitamin/supplements in an effort to make my PMS symptoms better. Moment my period comes I have no energy, I had to drag OH shopping with me today because I have no energy, and crunched over with tummy ache and get lift anything. We got a new microwave, as the old one was flaking inside (the inside had bubbled away) the seal had broken, and using it freaked me out cause I thought it might explode! Tried to live with the hob, but, I use a microwave more than I thought I did!Express gratitude for
1) something you like about yourself - this is difficult as someone who isn't very positive. I'm grateful for my willingness to learn.
2) a challenge you've overcome - I have overcome a difficult challenge at work recently. Line managing is a new skill I'm learning at work, and it's been difficult recently dealing with one of my employees.
3) something you created - I'm not crafty, but I'm creating a better living space at home (slowly)
4) something you often take for granted - I'm grateful for having a job, and a regular wage.
5) something beautiful you saw today - my dogs face! He's a pro at pulling those puppy dog eyes, p moving his head to the side when he thinks I'm talking to him about food. He's 13 but he still thinks he's a puppy sometimes ha!
6) someone who inspires you - my boss inspires me. She's done so well and can manage anything, a real role model.
7) something you use everyday - I'm grateful for my favourite hob on the cooker. (I'm not the only person with a favourite hob, am I? Haha)

@mothernerd - sorry I missed this - but here aew my gratitudes for yesterday...
Express gratitude for
1) something you like about yourself - I work hard and have fun.
2) a challenge you've overcome - its an ongoing challenge, but my dyslexia, I left school with 2 GSCEs and now have a first class degree, a doctorate and I am studying at Oxford Univeriity. Thats against the odds right.
3) something you created - I recently finished sewing a blue velvet coat, that has been a challenge and been a long time in the making
4) something you often take for granted - having enough money, I have enough I just haven't used it well.
5) something beautiful you saw today - I really appreciated my plants, they are beautiful.
6) someone who inspires you - my daughter very often inspires me, but more famously, I guess that would be a Clinical Psychologist that is out 'there' and taking risks away from the usual proptotype of the profession.
7) something you use everyday - My laptop, for work, play and leisure.
I had a NSD yesterday after all, but will nip to the shop today. Had a very restful day yesterday, I was overwhelemed with tiredness on Friday evening and went to bed at 7.30!

Sunday- today will be NSD 4/15, yesterday we went and did the weekly food shop- had a list, stuck to it until we re-jigged the meal plan slightly based on the meat available. So went a bit off track, but we have all the food for the week (except milk and bread which will as always have to be topped up), and DD helped with the meal planning which means she is more likely to eat them! Also topped up on some store cupboard bits.
Have stewed a mix of fruit which was slightly soft (apple, pear, berries) so I had some mixed with yogurt for breakfast- healthy, money-saving and yummy.
Buffy- good luck with the rabbit, if you are syringe feeding can you mix the meds with the food?
Grateful for DD growing up and being helpful and sensible, the rugby yesterday, a walk in the cold with the sun shining, having enough snow for the fields to look pretty but not enough to make the roads awful!7 -

I spoke briefly about rewiring our brains. Here are
5 Tips for Building Your Resilience
1) Experience More Positive Emotions
We know from neuroscience that experience rewires the brain. Emotions like joy, interest and delight help us feel and function better and rewire our brain for increased resilience.
start to notice positive events
seek new experiences
This will help you experience positive emotions and counter negativity bias
2) Gratitude Exercise
Write down for 2 minutes everything you are grateful for
Whilst doing it, allow your body to open up and notice what it feels like
If possible, try to do this once a day for 30 days
this will help you see the positive, even when things go wrong
3) Hand on Heart Serenity Exercise
Place your hand on your heart for one minute
or massage yourself at the base of your skull
or hug yourself for twenty seconds
Hand on heart calms stressed neurons around the heart. Massaging skull or hugging self leads the brain to release Oxytocin, a natural antidote to stress
4) Emotion Exercise
Assume posture of emotion that is difficult (eg anger)
Notice feelings that arise and hold for 30 seconds (eg shame)
Do opposite posture for 30 seconds then return to original emotion for 15 seconds
Do opposite posture for 15 seconds then end 15 seconds of a posture that is somewhere in the middle
:)This is a way of letting our body lead us via movement into an emotion that we have struggled with and helps us build resilience
5) Do one scary thing a day
Whenever we do something new our body sees this as a mistake (disrupting the flow of dopamine)
We feel anxious, we have to do the new thing anyway (dopamine is restored)
As soon as we experience success in crossing the threshold
When we do one scary thing per day we are teaching ourselves that we can do new (never tried before) things

Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple Dr Seuss
The more grateful I am, the more beauty I see Mary Davis
Sometimes you just need to look at things from a new perspective to find a way to laugh at them
If life gives you lemons
1) make lemonade ...then go and find someone who's life gave them vodka
2) Make sure you know who's eyes to squeeze them into
3) make life take them back, Get Mad, demand to see life's manager, burn life's house down, with the lemons
4) make orange juice and leave everyone guessing how you did it
5) throw them back and demand chocolate

Up to 5 NSD's. Got out for a quick horse ride this morning, it was snowing a little bit and was blooming freezing but was nice to get out. My sister dropped off some Xmas gifts that she'd been holding on to for us so we had a weird little Xmas morning part 2 with the snow falling outside.
Rest of the day will just be dying my hair, doing my physio and chilling. Enjoy what's left of the weekend everyone!8 -
