Curve Card

All my Curve transacations show as CRV*RetailerName on Barclaycard, Chase, RBS, and Halifax. I presume it would be the same for all cards. I find this helpful as you can see instantly that the transaction was made through Curve.
Regarding the £50: as above, if you want to avoid it, pay the cashier. Whether it is triggered by Curve or the underlying card, as Curve Chat.1 -

However i noticed this time i used it it says £50 and also says curve on the transaction too. Is it normal for all transactions used by curve to state 'curve' on the transactions on your statements - that is a bit annoying. I mean when i use google pay it doesnt say google pay for all transactions.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:1 -
When using Curve, the financial transaction is fundamentally different than Google Pay, or direct.
The traction, as far as the card provider is concerned, is with Curve not the merchant.
Which is needed for features like Go Back In Time
As a result some things don't work/apply with Curve, e.g section 75 doesn't apply, Merchant ID based cashback.
Knowing the transaction is via Curve can therefore be important.
The benefit though, is that the merchant doesn't need to explicitly support Curve, as it is treated like any other card, but does need to explicitly support Google Pay, Apple Pay etc.

Ahhh,
This is important to know. So Section 75 does not work. If there is indeed a dispute with a company for a transaction for like £150 then i would not be able to dispute that transaction for a cash back or a charge back? Is this correct?
Also, to get certain cash back offers you need to spend a certain amount i.e £500 with Halifax per month. I presume by using the curve card as my halifax will NOT count as me using my halifax card and therefore not count towards my cashback,0 -

£500 spend via Halifax (Rewards account I assume) is fine, as any spend counts (albeit there may be some exclusions).
The problems are if the spend needs to be with a specific merchant, e.g. Tesco Credit Card points for spending at Tesco, or extra cashback at Amazon etc.
So the Cashback Extras from Halifax won't work.
Curve pass the merchant category code (so for instance cashback for any supermarket spend should be okay), but not the specific merchant ID.

No exclusions, other than cash withdrawals and transfers (i.e. things which don't use the Visa Debit functionality at all).

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but this is appropriate.
Curve announced yesterday that they would be redefining their offer and that, starting from the 1st September 2022, the free tier (the tier the vast majority are on) is being limited to 2 cards per customer, and 3 "Go Back in Time" transactions per month. They are introducing a midway tier at £5 per month (£2 if you sign up now) that allow you 5 cards, and only Curve Black and Metal will allow unlimited cards.0 -

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have a particular question which knowledgeable MSErs will be able to help with, which will be useful to all Curve users
I have (say) 30% cashback at Laithwaites if I use my Halifax credit/debit card , and I also have 5% cashback on my Curve card.
If I use Curve , selecting Halifax, do I get both cashbacks?

You shouldn't get both cashback, if you use the curve card you should get 5% but not the 30% from Halifax as Halifax will see transaction with Curve, not a transaction with Laithwaites.
However, I cannot guarantee this will happen, but it has been my experience of using retailer specific cashback offers on my credit/debit card behind Curve.1
