I can't comment on NatWest but the last time I tried using Curve in a Tesco store with my old Tesco CC, I got the lower ClubCard rate rather than the in-store spend rate. It's probably worth a small test, as the other posters have suggested.surreysaver said:
Does this mean that NatWest won't be able to pay me my 1% cashback for supermarket spend, and it will only be 0.25%?PRAISETHESUN said:
Haven't used it for a while with my Tesco CC but last I heard it had been fixed and Tesco refunded anyone affected. If you're shopping in Tesco though, you're better off using the actual Tesco card for the extra clubcard points - Curve masks where the transaction happens so Tesco won't see it as an in-store spend.WillPS said:What's the situation with Curve and Tesco Bank credit cards currently? A few years ago there was a fairly farsical situation where they started treating all Curve transactions as cash. The whole thing went on for months, but obviously I stopped using Tesco Bank via Curve at the time and haven't tried since; I'd be interested to know if it works now though.k_man said:Sorry, this was a general response, not specific to your RBS card.
If the cashback deal on the specific credit card is for any supermarket, it should work.
Some deals are different, as we know, e.g. Tesco credit card points.
Other credit cards may have similar exclusions, e.g not petrol station mini stores etc.And in another thread:

Curve passes the merchant category, but not the specific merchant ID to the card provider
As such Tesco card (in this case) knows the type/category of merchant (MCC) but not the actual merchant ID (MID) and so merchant specific offers may not track correctly.
Tesco points are specific to shopping at the specific merchant ID of Tesco.
Supermarket spend for NatWest/RBS is reliant only on the merchant category of supermarket.3 -
Can you change the nickname for the curve card in google pay?
Im getting an error message0 -
The 'Rules' don't seem to work properly on Curve. I set a rule for transactions of £2 and below to use my Co-Op debit card, made a transaction of £1.65, but it still used my default cardI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0
