Curve Card

I really don't care about a metal card and I'm not planning on getting Curve Metal, but why does their website have a red metal card but their app only has the blue metal and the rose gold (?) metal ones? Have they ran out or something?
The red card was limited edition.0 -
Then why is it on all of their branding?jay1804 said:Lightning360 said:Thank you for your help. There doesn't seem to be any downside to just getting the free one and trying it out so I might as well get it.

They probably use the same Web design company that TSB use.Lightning360 said:

have to agree with others the free version is the way to go i do like the fact i can leave my big bulky wallet at home and just take a smaller wallet with me anywhere i go.
the only problem i have is as others have stated if your using a tesco/amazon credit card you don't earn as many points but i've just deleted my curve card from amazon and just put the amazon cc as default.

I found a very specific use for mine.
Adding credit cards (sub prime) not supported by Google pay to the curve card then adding Curve to Google pay.
No longer have a need for this workaround but it was useful at the time. Now I just use it as a way to carry all my available credit in one card. Even then it rarely gets used.1 -
I now seems that the Curvel Metal blue card has gone and the red one is back.0

Use my Curve basic card all the time. It's especially handy for online shopping as I can usually remember the card number but if I can't it's quick to get it from Curve app and copy and paste it in. In conjunction with the Go Back in Time feature it means I don't have to go scrabbling round finding different cards but can decide later which account I want to be charged. I like that they've added the fall back card option so that if your selected underlying card fails on a transaction for some reason then it will switch to the fallback card so no embarrassing situations in shops (not that that's particularly applicable at the moment 😀). Shame about the 1.5% charge introduced for paying things like HMRC using an underlying credit card as would have been nice to get bit of cashback from paying my taxes. Other than that I find it very useful.0

I share your views on the advantages of the Curve card, but don't you store your card details in Chrome and/or Edge, so all you have to remember for an online purchase is your CVV? Click on the card number field when buying something, and up pops a window asking for your CVV. You enter it, and the card number etc all get filled as if by magicShedman said:It's especially handy for online shopping as I can usually remember the card number but if I can't it's quick to get it from Curve app and copy and paste it in.0 -
There are a few institutions which do not support Apple or Google Pay - Triodos Bank and Capital One for example, so the free Curve card is a really good way of accessing NFC payment services with your phone. The transaction is made on the underlying card pretty much instantaneously. You also have a 'back in time' feature where you can change the card you used retrospectively. So if you made a transaction with card a and later wish you had used card b you can make the change in the Curve app very easily. You can also designate a backup card so if for any reason a transaction is declined in store it will automatically switch to the backup without showing the retailer that anything has been declined. Some neat features for a free product.0
