Thanks Kaz....will have a look at those. I have had a quick s+s of the kitchen and downstairs loo. More online work looked at ( Their theme work today was to make a bird feeder for the BGB. I t was lovely to see the photos of children, we haven't seen for a while, enjoying themselves.
Off to continue with spreadsheet work....
Oh... Pigpen, you are doing a fab job with the home schooling. In our school, we just like a check in once a week and to know the children are doing ok. Online work is good, but they can just draw a picture and upload a photo... splash in the puddles....or just a smiley face...xx6 -
Work done, Was it worth being in the WAC worrying about it since 4am?? I think not.Bed stripped and remade, and bleach thrown at toilets and basins before I left this morning. Wm run this afternoon, clean clothes sorted, and an hour’s admin ticked off, including setting up a new account which is intended to make my new budgeting process work. Not sure it can work miracles though.DD drove me to small town, we filled her car up with petrol, which was a learning curve for her. Luckily, mum paid...
DH has been at work all day, as he had to pick up a laptop. It’s quite a novelty to have him out of the house, but he will be like a frantic toddler when he gets home. Still, DD enjoyed her day home alone.
Ooohhh the oven element has arrived. I just need to find a YT video to work out how to fit it. And hope that it actually is the element that has blown.7 -
Fayolle, I remember DD filling up for the first time... neither of us could take the cap off and and had to resort to OH who who was working down the road, luckily!!
I have been looking for tasks to suggest that doesn't involve screen time... lots out there... just do the task and upload a photo... sounds do-able?7 -
I managed some time in the garden today, after walking the dog. It was nice pottering in my little greenhouse. I tidied a little bit, and planted 64 onion sets in modules as the allotment is too wet still. I also put some alliums & irises in pots as they should have been planted a few months ago! They have 2 chances!!
I completed 1 admin task, so at least I ticked something off my list.
Friday tomorrow (yay!). Paid stuff again. I need to check the weather forecast to see if its feasible to take the dog & small child out for a walk together. If its raining I will have to take the dog out before work which means getting up a bit earlier.
Night night everyone!8 -

I'm all out of synch with flying again, but the bedroom did get done yesterday. Plus some gardening.
Today was minimum flying other than one load of washing.
Taught workplace student (Zoom). I need to write that up tomorrow.
Had drum lesson (Zoom).
Managed a short run, first one since before Christmas. Mr N had gone for a walk while I was having my lesson, so when I'd finished I rang to see how far he'd got and jogged out so I could walk home with him. Hopefully that will encourage me as I was doing so well with the running last year.
Mr N had notification of his vaccination; he has it next Wed yippee. At least it will be one week before friend's funeral; I know they aren't fully active until 2-3 weeks but it still makes me feel better.
Caught up on a few emails.
Sorted out newly-arrived seeds and put some in envelopes ready to send to my mum as she doesn't need to buy whole packets.
Ordered new 2-ring electric hob; surely we must have nearly replaced all the appliances in our house that are 30+ years old and keep breaking? Mr N rang to see if the non-working unit could be repaired, but of course they can't get the parts. Sigh, why do I keep hearing that? Still, Topcashback plus free delivery plus free removal/recycling of new one.
Tomorrow I have a Zoom with my manager, so hoping to have a chat about when/if I go back to uni, when/if I should offer remote assessment etc. and hoping to get hints on what format the new contract will be in so I can decide whether to apply.
Right good night to all, including me - getting bored of the WAC.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Narco.. Is there anywhere you know of does an online (preferably free!) dyslexia testing for my 18 year old? College are fobbing me off with 'it's a long wait list' .. but as you know I am skint myself savng for Dots assessment and another £500-700 for Moomins would kill me off I think. I looked at THIS SITE ... but I'm not sure it is properly recognised. Can you offer any guidance? My Uncle (71) and Aunt (72) had the jab 2 weeks ago on Friday (is that today or tomorrow?) and he has been very ill ever since, he spent several days in bed and yesterday was the first time he had been out of the house which is unheard of, he is never in. My Aunt is a bit odd and my mother wasn't sure she understood what she had asked. Might be something worth considering before planning anything.. play it by ear
I hope all is fine though. xx
£50 more to save (sell on ebeast) for Dots assessment.. I bet you will all be glad when it is over and done with.. you know I will find something else don't you? I have the holiday to pay for next.. OH's mother usually helps but she bought his pc... I'm saying no more.. *grits teeth and bites tongue*
We picked up a couple of exercise books for the girls to do their school work in. Dot is not happy about going to school but I said Fabian is there and her (fellow boisterous child) friend is also there, his mother lasted 2 weeks and begged for all 3 of her children to go to school so I've held out until they offered at least lol. I really hope it helps her, plus I will get some exercise walking to pick her up.. unless there is weather, I don't go out in weather!Sorted paint in the shed.. I have some right spiffingly glorious colours.. BRIGHT yellow, BRIGHT orange, BRIGHT pink, Teal (I love it and can't find anywhere to use it on!) I have 10L of dark grey... it's not nice.. BUT... I could mix with the white and use for the middle room... that should work.. it's a very dak room and need brightening up lots.Next time Moomin goes to her boyfriends we are decorating her bedroom.. and then I am doing DS2's.. I've had the stuff for 4 years for his I think it is time I cracked on with it. It is a tiny room and if I kick him out for a couple of nights (he can stay in Moomins room while she is not here!) I can blitz it in a couple of days.. he can strip walls and I can sand and paint.. I have duckegg gloss for the 2 wood panel walls, striped paper for the other 2 walls and silver for paintwork though... that teal paint might come on for that.. I will see.. it is silver at the moment, I hate white woodwork... Moom room.. Bear room.. then I might look at the girls room, it is a bit of a pit. It was done in 2011 and is very tired and scraped.. and drawn on. OH has been promised to my sister to put a kitchen door on for her and sort her a back gate and a smaller gate to stop the woffer escaping.. it will occupy him for a bit and alleviate the boredom. He has a door to put on Mooms room too. There hasn't been one on there for a few years. I need to get her a little heater too.. there is a tiny brick fireplace in there and I have in mind a tiny electric stove type heater.. I know what I want to get but it is likely to mean more ebeasting!
I might have to knit more angels and see if they will actually sell. They are so cute. I have a bundle of wings but I want some darker yarn for the faces, not all people are pink!
Boogs friend was so pleased with his food parcel. his student finance hasn't come through yet and he hasn't been paid since starting his job yet so is super skint. He has been living on juice and reduced food from the supermarket. I would hate to think of my child in that position so couldn't stand by and not feed him.
That looks like my weekend sorted!
Nest time... nighty night.. this is how I avoid the WAC.. I'm an insomniac! I'm not even tired!

I was there with you all in the WAC. Joined before Piggers even made it to bed. I thought about getting up to give a wave but hoped I was alone. I just knew I wasn’t.
Work today, my turn in the office. Wm is on with yet another load of darks. The ironing pile seems to have taken on a mind of its own. The kitchen is just about presentable if you look from a distance. With (in my case anyway) no glasses on.Must get ready, late again. Take care everyone, thank you for providing the sanity yet again x8
