Round 1 completed + a plastic sweet jar's random contents sorted and either flung or put in a bag for DS, + a pair of trainers and a pair of football boots put in a bag for DS. Liaised with DS and fer-linged a worn out pair of work shoes and the not-all-there drinking game. Shot glasses WUDU and packed in polystyrene for DS. WUDUPA the breakfast pots at the same time.
The auto locksmith came and established that the key is not the problem! He suggested that it is the ignition switch at the bottom of the ignition lock. Good news is I don't need a new lock. Bad news is I now have to ring the garage and ask them to replace the switch. Good news is that the switch only costs £25 ish and isn't hard to fit (he says). Also good news is that locksmith says he'll try and get a switch too, and if garage can't do it ring him back. And breathe... Oh, also good news is if I push the key into the lock as I turn it - car will start. Well, it did while the man was here so I'm hoping it still will in the morning!!! NN came out to see what the problem is - isn't it nice when people care
Dinner's ready.
Back later

Hope you get sorted today, ASB, as we miss you here.
Just back from a long walk - 2 hours across the hills then through the snowdrop woods. It didn’t used to take that long in the days when I could run that distance ☹️. But the cobwebs have at least been blown or frozen away. Now I’m back I have remembered that I need to go to the allotment to see if there is some veg for the week ahead. I’ll see if I can drag DH out with me after lunch but that is unlikely. He is looking for a medal, having fitted the new oven element!

Hello all. Hope you're all ok.
Today I have walked the dogs, dusted the living room, cleaned bathrooms, hoovered sofas and changed throws, and kind of hoovered through the house. DH and I also did the bird watch. We're about to have lunch then will watch the football before paid stuff later.
See you all on the new thread.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Steady snow here, big flakes. Went to the allotment and picked some veg for the week - yes, in the snow! - veg cleaned and in the fridge. Wm x 2 done. HHI. Just dinner to cook and an online toiletry type shop to sort out. DD wants a savings account to link to her current account, but as always, she wants it sorted right now, now that she has decided on it.See you all on the new thread x8

Round sometimes its good to stop and celebrate the progress you have made. Glad things are getting sorted with the car x
I have been for a walk, came home and made a cake, biscuits and brownies, then two pizzas. Two loads of washing over the airer, one clean load put away, quick run around with the cordless hoover (which DH has fixed). No snow here, just very very cold.
Back to work tomorrow after a long weekend. I dont want to go back to work, sigh.7 -
Evening all.
After a bad night's sleep because I hadn't taken my meds, I had a very late start to the day: came down for breakfast at about the usual time, but then went back to bed and slept for the rest of the morning - oops! However I have felt a lot better since and have taken Rosie for her usual walk, done WMx1, baked scones, compered DGC's concert, unpacked and put away a delivery from MrW, and cooked a special tea because I found some YS fillet steakNow trying to tidy up my study a bit more (one sheet of paper at a time), send an email to my nephew in France, and at the same time write a list of things that absolutely must be done tomorrow. I think it will be quite a long list, beginning with Rosie's flea treatment which gets done on the 1st of every month.
See you on the new thread xx8 -
I went for a walk with the dog along the brook path, where I can see my allotment. It is still under water, so I not much I can do there. Back home I have sorted all of my seeds, and made an inventory of what I have, so I can see what I need and. more importantly, see what I don't need! Most are still in date, and there are some doubles - mainly free seeds with a magazine that my mum passes on to me. I think I will send a few to a friend so that they don't go to waste. I have just over 200 packets!!
DH and I have cleared some stuff from the LR - just side tables & the cat tree to move in the morning. The carpet cleaner man said he would move furniture, but we have moved the bookcase & CD rack which was ridiculously overloaded! The hot chocolate that DD2 spilt the other day had seeped under the bookcase so I am glad we moved it!!
I made a tasty chicken casserole for my dinner (DH & DS had TW pizza!) and I have roasted a large butternut squash & some garlic to make a batch of soup tomorrow.

Got washing sort of dried outside, cleaned out rabbits, been to town, B00ts was open so I have dye (only place that stocks my shade). Took notes during planning meeting with boss which I have neglected to save. Hopefully I have remembered enough...so I know what to plan.
bought cards from Wilko - not brilliant but they'll do. Have sent card to family of new great niece and card to other nieces bf.
