Chicken thighs (that nobody wanted) in the oven for curry.
WM and TD on.
I have started Childrens Mental health and wellbeing as the maths one wasn't what I wanted.
I have also commented on some childrens online work and bypassed those that sent empty sheets x

Thanks for all your support. Yesterday went very well; after the weekend snow Monday dawned bright and sunny and although there is still lying snow, the roads were clear. Mr N had practised his 'memories of Mum' speech several times including over Zoom with me in the spare room on the laptop; he was really nervous but did very well and I was so proud of him. I had kept the personal things very short so I wouldn't cry, just mentioned MIL and my shared love of flowers and a little anecdote then read a poem and a verse from Isaiah. All in all it was quite an upbeat service everyone agreed. They didn't hustle us out afterwards so we were able to have a distance, masked chat (7 of us) in the car park until we all got too cold. The care home sent a floral tribute which was lovely of them; we gave that to Mr N's female cousin while BIL took my one home.
Rather a WAC night, don't know why really. Mr N seemed to sleep well, I think he was so relieved it was done. I expected us to both have a bit of a meltdown when we got home, but so far we're ok. I suspect our brains are postponing that until our friend's funeral. I also think that as far as Mr N is concerned, he lost his mum to dementia in the last couple of years anyway so it has been gradual; he did his best by her throughout and he isn't prone to leaking eyes like I am at the drop of a hat anyway. Condolences to Jazee.
Really cold here today, we haven't walked as it has been sort of icy sleet. However I made a list and have:
- thoroughly cleaned our en suite.
- Mr N is now hoovering.
- I've finished the summary of last Friday's lesson, which had been delayed over the weekend.
- Made a small arrangement with some of the leftover flowers to take round to the funeral director as thanks, as she did over and above what was expected.
- emailed the order of service, flower photos and eulogy to people who couldn't make it.
- done a couple of assessment-related emails, I've got an informal Zoom with my manager on Friday.
Talking of courses, I've done a whole range from FutureLearn and feel they are pretty good. I did the ADHD one and the AS one (I think toochoosey was asking about those - feel free to pm me if you want to know anything about it. I used it as an update as I've been allowed to report ADHD traits in my assessments in 2013 following formal training; my main areas are dyslexia and dyspraxia). What I like about the FutureLearn courses is the wide range of participants from all over the world, so the forum/comments produces a lot of interesting discussion.
Anyway I still have drum practice, tidy bedroom and exercise on my list. Suspect the latter is going to be out of luck. Food all sorted for today as Sun/Mon I made a cake, soup, bread and roast beef.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -

Narco thanks for the update, I have been thinking about you, glad it all went well. Tough times for you both.
I made time today to have a SD chat to a colleague at work whose much loved Gran is poorly and has gone into a home, and because of Covid she cant visit her. She just wanted to offload how sad she felt that she might never see her again, and never got a chance to hug her and say goodbye. So many people affected by things like this.
Paid stuff done, yoga done, tea was leftover chilli out of the freezer. Called at Li@l for necessary shopping.
Since I passed my exams last year I have no desire to do more learning, but I did get asked if I would be a tutor for others doing their qualifications, which I would love to do if only I had the time to give to it properly.
Bedtime now I think x8 -
YORKSHIRELASS, it is such a hard time for all right now, but all we can do is listen and talk to someone x That's why I'm glad I came back when I did. There's no judgement and always someone to offer support/ advice x
Oh, and I don't like decimals or fractions.... in English or Welsh (the task instructions..... numbers are numbers)...may look at another maths course (The one earlier was not right)7 -
YL.. that's really sad.. My nanna was in hospital when I had Tiddles and she never got to see Tiddles and I never went to say goodbye or for one last hug either. I know how incredibly hard it is. I just think if it is end of life care what difference does it make to anyone? If the older person can make their own decision then they should have the last say, these homes are effectively holding those people captive. It makes me mad and sad in equal measures. It's so damaging for everyone involved.
Dot has been offered Mondays in school.. my mouth said yes before my brain heard the sentence. I love the child to bits buts she is so distressed and upset at the mere mention of school work if we can work with her to get one day of her learning with some routine and out of the house it will give us time with the other 3 to be calm and work without fighting. I feel bad accepting the offer because it feels like a punishment knowing she hates it but I also know she is not going to make any progress at home. I will need to change her Clarinet lesson to another day to maximise her time in school. If she accepts the one day her teacher said they will see if they can get her in another day too. We are very much playing it by ear and trial and error. I have requested an EHCP be done because we all need to be dancing to the same beat and hopefully get some formal support in place for her, and the teachers and us at home.
Bother.. Squeak has an assessment for high school at 9am.. I just remembered.. now to run about like a lunatic sorting her stuff out!Bins all emptied, cat trays cleaned.. we need fresh litter tomorrow so a pet @ home run..and bread.. we have none..

Morning all.
Good luck Squeak!
Lots of courses on a wide range of subjects - including academic, mindfulness, computing, music etc - here, prices from £15.99.
Caught the recycling men at work when we hadn't expected them, so had to run out in my dressing gown to put the huge cardboard boxes out.
The road menders are at work in the lane at the back, so Rosie is refusing to go in the garden (she hates the vibrations). As it's an unmetalled road, it will be full of potholes again with a week.
To do today:
- dailies
- FUPA clean, dry washing
- finish letters and post parcels (carried over from yesterday)
- play with the ancestors and get rid of some more rubbish paper.
It pays to stand and take a critical look round a room occasionally. Yesterday I spotted that DH's railway magazines had strayed from his little table onto the arm of the sofa, so I tidied them up; then I realised that my NT and EH magazines hadn't moved from the other little table for at least 6 months (except for occasional dusting) so I offered them to my NDN who was very pleased to have them. Result!
Hope everyone has at least a fair-to-middlin' day xx
