tooch.. OU do a few free courses.. I occasionally run through a couple when I'm bored.. I have a weird need to learn things.
DD2 has just been diagnosed with ADHD, Irlen syndrome and dyspraxia.. the turnip genes are very strong in me because it seems they all have those ones! The practitioner recommended she gets a full ASD assessment.. £900... guess that is next on our 'to pay for' list. thats 4 with ADHD & 5 with dyspraxia.
2x WM.. and I hung up 1 jumper!
DW been on twice though so all the pots bar the ones form dinner are clean..
nest time for my grumpy self.. Tomorrow we have zoom stuff from 9-2:30.. pretty much constant! My poor router is going to cry!

Morning everyone. Freezing cold here but dry. DH has gone to the office. DD2 eventually got her internship sorted yesterday, school said no then maybe then yes, so she's heading back west tomorrow morning. She's going to stop with a friend for the first few days whilst she looks for somewhere to rent, just hoping lockdown doesn't mean she'll be stopping with the friend too long. I need to get her washing up to date today.
Bed made, clothes picked up
WM on
DW on
Pellet stoves hoovered, cleaned and refilled, one is on
Spending spreadsheet updated
Online learning is something I've been looking at too, but not sure what to do. I fancy another language, ideally Breton, anything about food and nutrition, or a practical skill but not sure what. It would be something positive to come out of this pandemic. We're not in lockdown yet but do have curfew at 6pm so no option of doing anything after DH finishes work. It's also snowed the last 2 weekends so have been stuck at home as we live in a small village (no not stuck but not been tempted to go anywhere). I'm not a shopper and no restaurants, coffee shops, museums etc open so effectively lockdown.
What have you all studied online and what was it like? Let's throw some ideas around and see what super fly ladies we can become.
Off to make some porridge and WU
Hugs, spoons & sticks help yourselves.

Morning all
It’s not a work day today, so I have read a bit of my book whilst waiting for it to get lighter, and suitably depressed myself by looking at the news headlines. It has just started to rain, so hopefully the remaining snow and ice will now wash away. DH wfh as usual, DD has no lessons today, but flying will have to be muted anyway for DH to make calls all day. Wm is on with a load of towels, I might stretch to some ironing in a bit. Also need to tidy the fridge again, wash my hair and do some admin boring stuff.
Well done to your DD for getting sorted, Mademoiselle. I did a OU food and nutrition short course a few years ago. It was very interesting and was the content that I was looking for, but wasn’t a free course. My Breton is limited to about half a dozen words, so I think that won’t be on my immediate list to brush up, as it may take some time!
Narc0, let us know that you are ok when you feel able x7 -
Good morning!
Paid stuff today, so I am up, dressed & breakfasted. I will walk the dog & small child at the same time later this morning, before the rain arrives.
Before I start I need to empty the DW & restack it & slosh some bleach down both toilets. At least that's something! I am gradually crossing admin tasks off of my to do list as well.
Have a good day everyone!7 -
*mutters rude words about home learning*2 of them were supposed to have zooms this morning.. one decided to not tel the children or anyone else and put up a recorded video 30 minutes after the zoom was supposed to happen so 28 children were sat waiting and the school said nothing. The other teacher said nothing at all and that zoom didn't happe either.. waiting on Squeaks.. complaint sent in to school.I've been at this for 2.5 hours and Dot has done absolutely nothing at all.. the morning challenge was to write a postcard from the moon... she wrote 'I went to the moon and nothing was there and aliens aren't real' ... 30 seconds into a video she has gone... I am on the verge of stomping on the laptop and putting her in the bin.Application for EHCP going in this week because if this is what she is masking at school her problems are worse than any of us have seen.Dots teacher is VERY boring. She is rolling about on the floor, I'm about to join her. Miss H enunciates her words beautifully which is great but oh my giddy aunt!OH has cleaned up cat deposits.. that is the limit of any flying we have had time for with this blooming school stuff.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)6

Morning all. Not quite so cold here today, but we've still got plenty of the white stuff lying around!
I had to make up for a fairly unproductive day yesterday, and so far today I have
- eaten breakfast which DH prepared (but I made the early cuppa)
- cleaned the bits of the kitchen that needed doing (I had cleaned the worktops thoroughly after yesterday's baking session)
- had a shower, then S&S'd the bathroom
- made the beds
- hoovered all through the house, then washed the filters in the :Dy$0n
- cleaned the ensuite, with the bedroom window flung wide open for some fresh air
- checked finances whilst drinking coffee [multitasking]
- cleared more snow and ice from around the cars so that DH can get out to his clinic appointment
- found some boxes to pack up DH's birthday cakes for DGC, together with a bit of roll out icing and marzipan for decorating them
- put sausage casserole in SC for tea, using up all the broccoli, cauli and fennel stalks that I've saved in the past week [very MSE]
- made Greek lemon chicken soup from other leftovers for lunch [also very MSE]
- started WMx2 of 3
For the rest of the day my plans are to
- take Rosie for an early walk
- write notes to go in the parcels and post them
- do my course session: hope it's more interesting than last week's!
- play with the ancestors
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed, but especially to everyone who's struggling xx

Pigpen, sorry to hear that school is being a pain x
We did a food hygiene course during the first lockdown and a Dyslexia awareness on when we went part time (part time in school but also working from home)
Flying...been shopping (forgot a pound for the trolley so not much bought as Mum wanted stuff too).
DD accidently knocked a bottle of micellar water over and the lid broke so the water splashed all over the floor. I started mopping it up with kitchen roll and then decided that the floors needed cleaning anyway, so all downstairs mopped x
Going to have a look at the list and look at the maths courses on OU (they learn so differently these days compared to when I was taught!!)
Ionafan You've got loads done, well done x
Before shopping, I also dropped some unwanted stuff to a friend who replied to a facebook post about it.

I’ve been flying albeit with little enthusiasm. Excuse the boring list, in no particular order:
Dw run and emptied
Fridge sorted and wiped out
Goulash in the sc
QHI
WULTD x2
Bathroom and ensuite cleaned
Kitchen sink soaking in bleachy water
Indoor plants watered, cut flowers rejigged
Upstairs vacuumed
Bedroom dusted, although I seem to have been selective about just how much I did for that last one.
Not sure what excitement I might bring to the rest of my afternoon...6 -
Well I didn't know the OU did free courses, I'll have a look next time I am fed up and need something to occupy my mind.I did do the MSE module academoney course the other week as I was bored, it didn't really lift the boredom, but I did get a certificate at the end. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2020/05/mse-launches--academoney--financial-education-course-with-the-op/So farI've done all the ironingFed the birdsFinally managed to start a BIG toad, as I had to wait for someone to give me 'permission' to do it, just waiting for HMRC to send me a code, it has to come by post for some reason, bank accounts closed, vat deregistered, about to photograph and list up some office type equipment that came with me on the move.Other stuff done as well

DW was emptied & restacked, both toilets & basins scrubbed before I started work. Cat litter tray has been cleaned and refilled. We went for a walk, and got back just as the rain started. I bumped into a childminder friend and her children, so we shared our duck food. It was nice to have a grown up to (SD) talk to!
I have just had a phone call. Our head of early years has managed to secure some vaccines and I have been offered one!! DD2 gets hers tomorrow through school (SEN school). It actually made me a bit emotional! 😭
