Well technically it dates back to 1998 and onDigital, later rebranded ITV Digital, but that entire venture fell to pieces in 2002, and none of that On/ITV Digital stuff works on the modern day Freeview anyway.

Yes Jenni, I'm saying yes, I live in a flat, with a communal Ariel on the roof
I'm going to buy the lead posted by JJ aboveHello,I bought the lead, connected it from the ariel socket into the TV, it didn't work.TV engineer attended, ariel socket is OK, my TV is not a smart TV,I lose my VM services next week, so, I need a new TV with freeview, I only have up to £150 to spare, problem is, it's all very confusing, LED/LCD, HTDV 1080p/780p, refurbished, not refurbished
I'm hopeless with technology, in addition, I suffer with MH issues, what may appear simple, I struggle with, may I ask, please be patient, thank you0 -
Sorry but that doesn't quite make sense ... if the aerial socket is OK and your current TV supports Freeview (it must do if it was bought within the last 15 years or so) then all you'd need to do is a) select DTV from the input/source menu on your TV and b) do a rescan for channels.
If your TV has an HDMI socket then something like an Amazon Firestick would make it "smart".Jenni x1 -
Hi Jenni,This is my remote, I've pressed TV on the remote, all I get is a snowy screen with "No Signal" clock counting down from 5minsThe TV engineer witnessed this, then said, it's not a smart TV, either I need a new TV with freeview, or a freeview boxI'm hopeless with technology, in addition, I suffer with MH issues, what may appear simple, I struggle with, may I ask, please be patient, thank you0

The picture you have posted is out of focus and doesn't really help very much. What make and model is the tv. Details will be on the back of the set.1

As above the picture doesn't really help. Is it a flat screen TV or one of the old, bulky CRT TVs? (The CRT type won't have Freeview, a flat screen type probably should). The snowy screen may simply be because the input (source) is set to ATV.
ATV = Analogue TV ... what was around until Freeview (and it's predecessors) came along
DTV = Digital TV ... i.e. FreeviewJenni x0 -
Yes - I forgot that this was confirmed on the previous page, and that I couldn't find any specs for this online.Jenni x0

Thanks for helping, it doesn't look like I have freeview on my TV, should I buy another TV with freeview or freeview box,not sure it it matters, but I won't have BB from next week?
