Savedosh - what about black sesame tantanmen? You can also make black sesame milk with them quite easily. There are many ways to use up black sesame seeds to be honest.

I caved due to lack of yoghurt, milk, fresh fruit and veg so went shopping and spent £18.78. I did get y/s organic milk, legbar eggs, mature cheddar, passion fruit and oranges which all helped a bit but my new total is now a shaming £122.50/ £116.

I have my coffee subscription due today or tomorrow - £27 instead of £30 for 6 large jars. I checked the SM prices and it is a saving. I cancelled it last time as it wasn't and had to top up in between when the SM had it on offer for £5 a large jar.
DH might have to go to the market on Friday for fresh fruit and veg but that should be it until March.
It being Ash Wednesday and the start of lent today I was wondering if anybody is giving anything up until Easter? I'm going to suggest we stop eating meat here as plenty of other sources of protein. Not sure what DH will say but I bet he references the amount in the freezer outside. I'm also going to continue with my abstinence from alcohol until mid March (a month tomorrow) and chocolate, but that is until my birthday rather than lent!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

Our fridge is pretty much bare. Need to get some F&V in. Have got £60 left to end of month, having a trip to a warehouse with Hubby that sells OOD products at a greatly reduced price. This is likely to be an afternoon out for us
Depending on how much we spend I will be aiming to take it from this balance, fingers crossed then we will make it on target as will only need fresh milk, probably hit Ffoods on the way back for it too (we do freeze too when there is space and we have at the moment) We have done well in eating and using down inhouse stock items. Hubby is more on board with meal planning now and we are making some progress.

On target for this month again. Cauliflower & Chickpea curry in progress for tonight. I'm finding the freezing of grated cheese useful - a tip I learned on here.

So I finally caught up with the spending my OH has been doing, we're at £288.62/£490 with 8 days to go.
I could come in under budget but might try and stock up on meat etc. Freezer is full of leftovers, but not necessarily full meals and we have the step kids this weekend.
Will shop on Friday but still feeling positive fr the monthAugust Grocery Challenge £161.27/£400.002024 Grocery Challenges Average - 98.67% spend vs Budget

Right I think I had £10.05 left for the week
Spent £1.65 on flour and cream today.
Doing OK and feel the month is going quickly.
Need to use up potatoes, banana and parsnips, so will do a banana loaf and some mash for the freezer tomorrow.
