£12.77 spent this week on fruit, veg and a couple of treats (chop chip cookies and a pasty - I blame the weather). I've decided to give up alcohol altogether for Lent but bought a bottle of posh soft drink for the weekend.Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget5

OH on the shopping again this week - thank God I'll be back on it next week - he bought duplicates of stuff on the list, stuff that wasn't on the list and missed other things off
£101.70 spent, £34.82 off list!!!
This leaves us at £390.32/£490 for the month with just 4 days to go!! I will probably order some meat during the week and might need eggs & milk etc, otherwise I'll be working on ways to use up the short dated items we now have 2 off!!August Grocery Challenge £161.27/£400.005 -
Well we did the OOD warehouse trip, was hoping for more choice but I guess it depends on what is available at the time. As there is only the 2 of us it wasnt quite suited to our life style. Brill for families and plenty of savings to be made and make money go further. We spent £57, due to the tat we treat ourselves too I am on this occasion not going to use the grocery budget. We did do FFoods on the way back to the tune of £48.50. Did my Indian supermarket at £14.93 and some other bits from Booths for herbs and spice bits I am looking for approximately £8. I have clearly gone wrong here as there is £22.41 cash in the purse!!!
I think my best plan next month is to actually take the cash purse with me and use it instead of paying me back
Payday is Friday, I will leave the left over in the purse till then as we only need milk and bread.

I'm close to my budget, but will need a few veggies and some milk this week, so might go slightly over. I've done better than I thought I would though, as I was a lot better stocked at the start of January than I was this month. I made my 1st ever soda bread on Saturday, and another one today which is sliced up and ready to go in freezer. Surprisingly, I'm enjoying this grocery budgeting. I feel more organised and in control, and I'm enjoying trying out new recipes.
