Morning all, sounds like everyone is doing pretty well with their budgets this month.
I'm currently on £213.62/£350. I need to do a small top up shop today and then will do another small one towards the end of next week. I've been very lucky recently with requesting food items through Oli0 so that's kept the spends low as well as having a good stock in the freezer and store cupboard. I'm hoping to come in around £250 but we'll see
Adding £12.49 from Mr T and £3 from to g00d to go app for a c0sta bag (not worth it in my opinion).

Happy Friday all, I had the chance to go to Morries today so bolted this weeks and next weeks budget together a day early and £27 spent. Plenty in now and have kept back £6.40 for milk and anything else that might crop to the 28th.

DH went to market - veg and fruit were very expensive at £34 and £15.50 at the fishmonger for a small piece of salmon, a small piece of tuna and some uncooked prawns. The list said cod and trout!. With this week's milk bill that takes us to approx £140 so far plus some stores. I'll update at the end of the month but only anticipating milk next week.
We have agreed to forego meat (not seafood) for a month from 17th Feb. I may need more cheese, pulses and nuts...Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Good morning All
I have three spends to declare, two from last weekend and one from mid-week. Last weekend, we took advantage of a L!dl 20%-off offer on coffees, buying two jars of their freeze-dried instant, two of the freeze-dried decaf, and two packs of Italian-style ground coffee. The coffee cost £6.92 instead of £8.66, so £1.74 saved and it’ll last us several months (3 months for the instant, probably a year for the decaf and 2-3 months for the ground). We also bought a YS rump roast (£4.18), a YS lemon tart (£2.09), some veg and some sweet treats for DH (also on offer). The one thing they didn’t have was eggs; they were completely cleaned out. £26.50 spent.
Got home to discover that we didn’t have the cider needed for cooking dinner that night - a variant on porc au cidre - so DH popped to the local 1cel@nd and bought a 4-pack for £4. (Seriously, when I went to get a bottle in L!dl, he insisted that we had some in the fridge. Errr... no....)
Tuesday evening, we walked back to L!dl and, this time, they did have eggs, so Pancake Day was saved. They were also selling off small haggis (300g) for 99p, so we bought four and had one for dinner on Wednesday night. The other three are now in the freezer. No where near as nice as the ones I buy from the butcher in Dunfermline, but cheap and tasty, and I didn’t have the 800-mile round trip to fetch them. (NB: L!dl’s were not in a natural casing.). Together with the eggs, £9.73 spent, but that also included wraps, mushrooms and peppers.
All the above brings our total spend for February to £128.42/£142.30, leaving £13.88 for the rest of the month. I think we’ll scrape through to payday but won’t have much left. We need to buy fresh milk and potatoes today and will be out of fresh veg by the end of next week.

I've done a spices/nuts order as well as far too much general home delivery stuff, and I'm around £60 ahead of plan right now. I *will* have the best ever scrambled tofu spices when they arrive, but I know I'm shopping online out of boredom and a yearning to be out in the world.
Well, it will all have to stop soon as the cupboards are full!
I'm attempting to stay away from shopping online by having a day using up beauty supplies. Highlighting cap on at the moment, pedicure coming up later.

Morning Happy Saturday everyone. I think I'm doing better I'm using the cash purse method as advised on here so my budget is £240 and so far I've spent £49 I overspent last month so I didn't have to fork out for cat litter and cat food this month and I've been living off lentil and not a lot. I have to do a big shop in the next week but if I can get the total to about £150. I'll be happy. Well done everyone. I need to know I can do this for a few months though so I'm going to reduce to £200 next month but no lower until I'm sure. The challenge is by calendar month for me, so 8 more days to go. I realised after making my initial declaration when I (belatedly) joined the challenge last weekend that I'd over-estimated my February spend when I totalled up, as two payments that were showing on my bank and credit card statements as dated 1 Feb were actually purchased at the end of January but took a day or two to appear on my statement. Newbie error!
Rather than faff around changing my figures for budget and spend, I'll leave them as they are, and bear it in mind when I set March's budget.
My big shop is done on a Friday. After yesterday's trip, my spend sits at £387.65/£500. Freezer is fully stocked, and the cupboards are fairly well stocked too. Will do a small shop on Monday or Tuesday for bread, milk and salad stuffs, but shouldn't need any more than that until next Friday. .
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done7 -
Shopping day today. Mr Porridge spent £15 on the market on F and V, £6.50 on cheese at the cheese shop (this included a round of president bries for 50p as it was yesterday's date) and £55 in l*dl so £76.50 in all. We've been £3 under for the last two weekends so this is only an overspend of 50p. Totals are £210.50 out of £280. He also bought some more catfud, included in L8dl total as we're down to one large box left. With us wfh they've been demanding wet food pouches not stop and not eating as many biscuits. I spent about £68 from zoo%lus around the 20 Jan so if it lasts another week that's about £15 a week, or £5 a cat - they're worth it.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020

I nearly forgot to add £54 spent at the market yesterday on fish, cheese, fruit, veg & some bits on the health food stall; soy sauce & herbs de Provence etc. We shouldn't need much more before payday next Friday but we'll see!Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5
