Mrs_Cheshire said:@Florenceem well done for coming in under budget.
I'm off later to pick up a grocery bundle from a charity that supports families and individuals on low incomes (it's a surprise what you get - 3 bags, 1 chilled, 1 fruit & veg and 1 cupboard staples).Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Spent £4.98 on dog food just so I have plenty to keep stocks up, I think I have just enough to 28th. I have plenty of dry, carrots and treats so they won't starve 😂
I think this is something I need to be more mindful of in future. Perhaps a regular pet food delivery would stop any additional top ups, treats etc.
Old scone, bread and hotcross bun pudding was a success. Plenty there for a few more meals/puddings too.
Cleaning and toiletries supplies going down, so am pleased. Must admit feels good to get this all used up, although I'm sure there's at least another 6 weeks worth to use.
I have found a sharpie pen so will start to write dates on so I will know going forward how long these things last. Thank you for that tip ♥️

Roughly £40 left for the month. I've had a few stockpile items - good price online for bean-based high protein spaghetti which is usually v pricey, so grabbed some of those, plus some vegan cheeses, and some specialist low carb bread mix which is not *that* cheap. but is hardly ever in stock, so I got 3 months worth.
Just veg to get until the end of the month, and the cupboards are looking healthy but not over flowing. I could get one more bargain if I saw one
I'm enjoying my soup maker - I prep my veg at tea-break time and then switch it on half an hour before lunch. Working from home can be annoying and a bit lonely, but has benefits too.

Pleased to say that I'm just under budget for this week again. Mr Porridge claimed that he had spent £54 at L*dl and £15 on the market making £69 but he had drawn £100 and still had £33 left so I think must be £13 on the market so £67 again. Although I hadn't realised we were dangerously low on tea so I'll have to get some tomorrow. Pleased with it so far though.
We had a gammon joint that hd been part of a butcher's deal for Christmas last night and there's enough for tonight and maybe something else (depending on whether I or Mr Porridge are yielding the knife). I roasted some mystery squash last night and it wasn't nice, very bland and what flavour there was, was bitter so I've mashed it with an egg, some SR flour, sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice to make a fritter batter to go with it.Mortgage Free 23 December 2020

Did a mini shop of plant milks, dairy free yoghurts, salad stuff and a couple of other bits. Resisted the urge of buying another 1.5kg bag of sesame seeds for tahini, as I have an unopened pack, only trouble is, they are black seeds. I thought it would be 'oh so trendy' to make black houmous. Kinda gone off the idea, but hey.... Need a couple of other bits, but am living mostly out of stores. Have updated sig.
