Hi everyone. £5.88 spent today on veg for tomorrow's roast and 8 small bottles of flavoured water for John our man that lives with us. Give him a glass of squash and he doesn't drink it, bottle of flavored water and he drinks it no problem.Mortgage free September 2021. Narrowboat brought October 2021

I realise we're half way through the month, but I'd like to join the challenge please. My budget for the month will be £500 for all non-essential spend - so groceries, toiletries, takeaways, petrol, clothes, birthday cards (though presents come out of a different budget) etc. Basically anything that isn't a direct debit.
One advantage of paying for everything by card during lockdown is that it was easy to track what I have spent compared to having to keep receipts. Checked my internet banking this morning, and I see that I've spent £300.51 so far in February, so, give or take a few pence, £150 per week. That's too high and, if I'm sensible, I think I can get that down to around £100 per week for the remainder of the month. So I'm aiming to keep below £200 between now and the 28th, making £500 for the month in total.Debt free since December 2015. It can be done8 -
Hi everyone, spent €33.14 last night at the supermarket, that makes €72.08/€250 so far.

Spent a very indulgent £18.79 yesterday. 2 rib eye steaks from the butcher (1 will be completely unappreciated by the kids, who will have it between them) so I can practice some self care/love for Valentine’s Day; some of the world’s most expensive lemon curd - I didn’t realise it was £3.99 until he told me the total 😱; fizzy pop and some YS potatoes.£80.40/£180 for the month so far and £247.98/£1950 for the year. I have plenty of ready made curries, chillies and ragouts in the freezer alongside plenty of meat and veg, and a cupboard full of staples. I’m hoping to get away with just some fruit, dairy and maybe a little veg for the next couple of weeks!Vicky xGrocery challenge:December 2022 £151.96/£400 . Advent decluttering challenge 47/240.8

Hi all went to the new past best before warehouse yesterday - spent £44 but got loads. Just worked it out that if I'd bought it at the supermarket it would have cost approximately £192.
Popped to the local c0-0p yesterday too for milk and bananas. I'm having issues with the membership offers so waiting a reply from customer services, so will amend my spend once I've heard from them.Grocery Challenge 2024

As I work on a 4 week plan - pension used for food shopping - today is last of my 4 week spending. I have a large stock of food in my cupboards/garage & freezers - one of the old school - never be without something with which to make a meal. Due to snow - missed out Monday weekly shop and Covid - so only shopping once a week - came in way under -

Nothing spent as down £9.97 but leaves £15.03 for the week to stay on track.
Have some leftover scones and hot cross buns (and eggs to use up) so I'm going to try a bread and butter pudding to use it all up - I'm sure it will be OK, lol.

I've been out of action and confined to the sofa this week which means the meals for all of us have been a bit different and a bit lazier.
A few trips to the local spar and today Tesco, no Lidl at all - and all done by OH!
I shall assess budgetary damage tomorrow and will remind myself that he has done everything this week and that he shops differently to me (ie buys everything 🤦♀️) did lead to very posh pork pie today 😁😁😁😁August Grocery Challenge £161.27/£400.009 -

@Florenceem well done for coming in under budget.
I'm off later to pick up a grocery bundle from a charity that supports families and individuals on low incomes (it's a surprise what you get - 3 bags, 1 chilled, 1 fruit & veg and 1 cupboard staples).Grocery Challenge 2024
