Well our December trip is off, not due to Covid funnily enough, but our dog-sitter has cancelled and we can't get anyone else.

Now the joy of trying to get refunds for all the elements. Flight+hotel was booked with Ebookers, hotel is free cancellation, but flights are apparently "airline credit" only. Which is rubbish as booking flights only through an agent seems completely pointless and you can't redeem it as part of another flights+hotel package.
That sucks..can the dog go in kennels ( I don’t have a dog , so no idea).

It’s almost always better to book flights direct though, much easier to manage
Easier to manage maybe, but the flight+hotel deals are rarely as good.

I've never found booking separately has been the better deal.

Going to speak to Virgin tomorrow to see if they can do anything.

Repeat Vegas visitors will usually get comped rooms so booking direct is usually cheaper

good luck with Virgin but they would normally refer you back to the agent you booked through

Looking at next year, issue is I cannot stand hot weather, what would be the months to avoid?

Also what is the ideal minimum number of nights to experience the trip? If this make sense.  As it will the first trip and most only one.

It starts to get warm in April, through September.

For me, I'd say 5 nights is a minimum - you might as well make the most of travelling all that way. You could do 3 or 4 nights if it's part of a multistop trip.

Go in March/April or Oct/Nov. We used to do both for 6 weeks at a time. At those times you get the odd hot day, and the odd cold spell.

I can’t advise on duration because we are retired and go for as long as possible. Shortest trip was two weeks, and we didn’t want to go home. We don’t just do the Strip. We explore it all and other neighbouring states too. It’s a great
base to explore California, Utah, or Arizona.

And before you know it, it's 2022

So who is confident of a trip this year?

We are booked to go in April and I am slightly confident of it going ahead (as we managed to get to Florida for Christmas and it went pretty smoothly)

We are hoping for April/May because we have been invited to a Vegas wedding then. Haven’t booked yet, but we are making plans.
  • I'm heading over on the 10th Feb, delayed from last October.

Didn't realise it was Superbowl Weekend when we booked it, expecting it to be very busy, but can't wait to get back there.  :)
