    hi
been  quite on the  forum front  (i know we are still restricted as such !) just  to  be nosey i guess what attracts everyone  going to vegas? is there a fav restraunt/place to visit there? a fav show nowhere else in the world? any   reason i ve missed?
i was trying to explain to my sis whom has never been./For me i think its the atmosphere i think, like you could   *visit* new york  (ok  the new york new york casino) or paris (the paris hotel) and so forth. I guess you could  see /do 2-3 different shows a day!

hope to hear some replies and see what   attracts others to vegas
    kind regards!

Good question as to what attracts us to Vegas. I think for me, it is the big city feel, but in a small(ish( setting, with tons of variety. Being able to relax if we want to nothing, always be able to see something new or have a new experience. Shows, food, scenery and generally nice weather helps too!

It would be nice seeing some activity here again. We've booked for end of May next year. Flights booked, and staying at the Aria. But seen a few bad reviews of late, not sure if we should be worried and maybe change? .

    +1 👍🏻

Options and variety in a small(ish) setting and weather that is pretty consistent

Same for us. So much variety at a bargain price , at least that’s how it was when we started going in 98, not so much now, and every trip we say it will be our last, weather is always good so if you want to lay by the pool you can, shopping was always great , exploring the greater area of Nevada, Utah,Arizona , California using Vegas as a base or at least including it as part of the holiday.  The sights,  the sounds, the gambling, the eating at so many different places ( we always have a car so eat at many places off the strip)

we do have a  13 night end of May trip booked which will prob be our last.like Lizzie, part of those 13 nights are comped at the Aria ( we may be there the same time), as for reviews I dont read them. There will always be positive and negative at every property
  • Re: Aria I have seen quite a few reviews recently saying that the rooms are not what they were... They're a bit beat up, scuffed and need a refurb. I wouldn't be surprised if they have been touched since it opened.

May is a good while away yet, don't know if they've got a refurb programme planned. I guess it will just be luck of the draw, I'm sure there are some rooms still in great condition.

The new rules came into force at 4am this morning.

From a UK point of view, assuming you're double jabbed, then you will just need to take an approved & paid for "Day 2" lateral flow test (not PCR) within 48 hours of returning home. You will need to book this before you go. The free ones you can pick up aren't eligible. They are currently in high demand (some providers are already out of stock for tests needed in the next 7-10 days), so I'd look to arrange yours sooner rather than later. The cheapest ones to have delivered to your home are around £20 each... or you can click and collect if there's a supplier near you.

    https://www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-to-england-from-another-country-during-coronavirus-covid-19

(edit - they're currently available here for £18.99 each, home delivery - approved Gov supplier)

You also need to complete a passenger locator form, 48 hours before your return:

    https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk

From a US point of view, I don't believe they have yet announced what their criteria for entry will be. We know they're accepting double-jabbed UK visitors from 8 November, but no detail if there will be things like track/trace, testing on arrival, etc.

    https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/usa/entry-requirements

As it's your first time (maybe not to the US), just checking you've got your ESTA sorted? :)

Haven’t looked at this forum for quite a while, as we won’t be flying due to my autoimmune issues. But quite surprised there isn’t more activity, and those dying to get back to Vegas.Guess I only came to have a look to see the like of Stuie saying they are booked, and an order in for the cooking oil to help with the tan😂
To be honest though, not sure I can go another 12 months without a Vegas fix, starting to wonder if I should risk it...I guess I never realised just how much Vegas is in my DNA ...I’m even watching the latest Wonka machine versions being played in Vegas..how sad is that.

I guess there other online places these days to have more interactive conversations, and no-one has really updated the front pages of this thread for a good few years.

Still check back in here every now and again though

All booked for a week before Christmas, we'll see what happens!
