  • Hi,
IHD is the In house display, the gadget that most folk stick in a drawer once the novelty has worn off.

    1. Press the green button until you see ‘Rate 01 Act Imp’
    2. This is your meter reading, write down all the numbers before the decimal point

If you have a two-rate (Economy 7) tariff with this meter, to get your reading:

    1. Press the green button until you see ‘Rate 01 Act Imp’ – this is your first reading
    2. Press the green button again until you see ‘Rate 02 Act Imp’ – this is your second reading

Those meters are a nightmare if it is a multi-rate supply. You have to do some arcane combination of button pressing to get the R2 reading out of them. I've only been retired a few months and I've already forgotten whether they normally show the R1 index without any button presses. You certainly had to press the button on the predecessor L&G meters that BG fitted. I concur with previous posters that it was manufactured in 2019.

Hi sorry, Ive been side tracked with finally getting home of shell.
I've taken a photo of the meter....does this give you the info your asking for?

Alongside the meter there should be a card or sticker with dates and reading of the old meter and the new one (probably 00000.0)

"Should" being the operative word. Almost universal with gas meters but only Eon consistently screw a card to the backboard with electric smart meter installations. Actually, I can see the edge of a card to the left of the meter.
  • In the original post you said the meter was fitted 3 years ago, but the photo shows it wasn't made until 2019, so would have been fitted less than 2 years ago.
Yes sorry maybe beginning of 2019. We were with eon from end of 2018 & this must been fitted after that

That looks like a L&G E470 SMETS2 electricity meter. The 19 serial number suggests that it was installed in 2019 or later. Are there any lights flashing on the comms hub?
Nope nothing! The gas one is working fine

Yes, I've found the card. It does state the readings. However it looks like this was fitted half way through my eon contract.

I've also found my account & all my bills are on there. Including my final, but it doesn't show usage for the year I don't think?

What you want is a bill from as far back as you can go and that has an ACTUAL reading -  do some simple sums and the reading 79174 to give a typical annual consumption. You can then use this to argue your case - best of luck
