My application has gone to the underwriter on the 5th May still on the queue my broker has been updating me every 2 days

She did mention theres a backlog for every lender currently due to everyone putting the application in before the rates when up

Good luck everyone I feel your pain

    Solo buyer
    Self employed
    Desk top valuation satisfactory
I am in the same position as you but my application has gone to underwriter on the 14th April.

Yesterday I heard from the underwriter reviewing my application and he is happy to sanction the lending just as soon as I can provide updated Tax year overview or SA302 so they match. The total tax agrees to the tax calculation but we have supplied all paperwork again. I’ve been told once received a mortgage offer will be issued. Just checked my tracker and it seems all documents has been ticked off and reviewed.

Wow that's nearly a month at least that's a good news at the end, what a relief
I’ve been through this before (vendor pulled out on the day of exchange). My previous mortgage was with coop platform and it took them 2.5 months to issue offer.
Obtaining mortage is stressful but real nightmare starts with conveyancing.
Iv had the worst experience I have been trying to obtain a mortgage since March my previous broker has been messing us around, ES was going to put the house back on the market I acually cried in relief yesterday when I got the news it was approved, we have been blessed with the best venders stay in touch and update each other, I am a first time buyer there moving and found a house chains broken now, so now just waiting for the searches to come back both of us, I pray they don't pull out there cash buyers and gave me that time so far so good they have started clearing the house so it's a good 🙏

I have started all legal work before applying for mortgage. All searches are done and house cleared  for me to move in too 🙂

hope it won’t be long, my rent went up again and I’m fed up paying someone else mortage.

I started the legal work before applying for mortgage aswell praying its quick, hope its not long for you fingers crossed
Good thinking. We need to be one step ahead from gazumping cash buyers

We were asked to price SA100s today - was told 3/4 days for assessment of these documents, looks like you have been waiting longer for this though!

Our property valuation was also completed on the 19th - this report is now back and this application is now showing as complete on the tracker.

Hope you hear some news soon :)
Thank you, I know some people been waiting much longer. Would be great to know more before weekend.

Hope everyone gets good news before long weekend 🙂

Have you had any further updates?

    Thanks
No:( NatWest tracker hasn’t been updated since 14/4.

My application went through on 11/4 and I’m trying not to stress out yet
Received my mortgage offer via broker.
All process took over one month.

    Congrats!

I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for today, solicitors are chasing me daily as my mortgage offer is the only thing holding up exchanging contracts 😔

    Hi all,

Completed my mortgage application with NatWest last Friday (14/5) - woke up to email today to say mortgage approved subject to valuation - reading everyone’s comments on here recently that seems very quick?

Not had the official offer yet as valuation yet to take place, is it post valuation that seems to be causing the most delays for people getting their official offer????

Also, just found out the top of our chain hasn’t found anywhere yet - eurgh. I know the offers last 6 months but should the worst happen do you know if NatWest do allow extensions and if so how long for? Want to cling to my current rate as long as possible at the mo!

Thank you so much - first time buyer and buying on my own so all a bit overwhelming at the mo - doesn’t help that I absolutely love the house I’ve offered on so I’ll be heartbroken if it all falls through!

In a strange turn of events I’ve also now had a text from Natwest surveyors saying they’ve done their valuation and sent this to Natwest - this all seems very quick, assuming the hold up now will be with the underwriters?
