I have had a look on the internet
to get an idea of what types of
    cakes are available.
The ones below sell for £5.99
each.I also intend to keep an
    eye of the cellophane containers
that things come in I must have
thrown loads of them in the past.
I thought the one made from a striped
flannel was nice and a bit different

oh wow!! Those are great. I love the mousse! 3 different shades of flannel isn't it? It seems that is all in the presentation. We need to look out for 'bits' that can go on top.. Definately have to look at boxes that other stuff comes in (just thought: I had some at Christmas and threw them out  and keep an open mind... HELP, these flannels are taking over my life!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

while I remember for those who are making the
    reindeers next Christmas.
I was in the Early Learning Centre in the
craft section they are selling a packet
with sets of eyes.there were 16 sets of eyes
plus a selection of eyes that were the googly
type in the same packet in a variety of sizes.
The packet seemed very good value for a £1

You've got me hooked, and so far just about EVERYBODY will be receiving a flannel next year!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Anyway, I have been hunting out some bits to construct the cakes etc, and found Hobbycraft quite useful for me as we don't have many of the cheap shops where I live. Hobbycraft stocked the pins that you have, the eyes and some little red pompoms for Rudolf noses, along with the pipe cleaners, oh and flat green leaves.

But I also saw in their sale items, some frosted fruits in a box, that look exactly like the ones in the pic above..................can't tell you how long I was studying them trying to work out how I could attach them!!! Gave up in the end and put them back, shame because they looked really classy!

I think you can attach them with a glue dot or double sided tape

    hi
I want to join in thinking of making some for wedding gifts for the women at daughters wedding, any ideas? like the chessecake idea
If you do the slice of cake idea, I spotted some ribbon with Congratulations on it, and cream ribbon with gold leaves, that you could wrap around the middle with.

azjh77 - what about looking around for some soaps that are in the shape of foods???

    Orange

    Orange & Cinnamon

    Chocolatey looking one!

Some of the Lush soaps look good enough to eat too! ;)

Yeah I was looking at double sided tape, but the 'frosting' as such looked as if it would come off onto the tape like glitter would. And I can't find my gluegun! Can find the sticks LOL!!!
