no you can use any colour really I have used
    lime green,white,ivory,pink and even turquise
its one of those things that you see a colour
and dont know if it will look good till you make
it up,you can have a sneaky fold in the shop to
get an idea we did one in lime green that I got
in home & bargain it looked really good.Just a
shame I never got a pic of all of the ones we made
    before they were given out.

    click on pic to enlarge

found this one so made it up for you to see

My question is: Can you melt an ordinary bar of soap and re-pour into heart shaped moulds?

Yes you can melt soap it can depend on the type
but during the war they used to pop all the odd
bits and bobs left over and make them into blocks
you would probably have to shred in on a grater.

  • PLEASE keep these gorgeous "flannel" ideas coming (guess who's been out today and bought masses of different coloured flannels!!).

me to I am going to try the ice creams

also and this is for next Christmas
we have been trying to find a
    plastic robin cake decoration
    similar to these ones below

    http://i15.ebayimg.com/06/i/000/a7/af/b9eb_2.JPG

we were looking for this before christmas
localy and had no luck finding one. There
is a seller on ebay with them but you have to
buy a packet of 20 ! We only wanted to buy a few
if anyone has spotted these in a shop local to
them give us a shout I can pop money in the
    post to pay for it.

I fancied using one of those extra thick
brown cloths to make a full size log and
pop a robin & some holly on the top.

Well.........(are you sitting comfortably??!!)...........I bought pink, white and brown. Multi packs I should add! I've been sifting through my Xmas decs for bits to decorate the flannel logs and am waiting for a delivery of muffin cases from ebay.

The moment was lost however when my husband caught sight of the printed off photographs from here and fell about laughing! I think it had something to do with me showing him a listing for hand knitted potatoes on ebay last night.

I'll get my revenge on him, once someone on here suggests a male gift which can be made with flannels!

I see this thread being as popular as the basket thread!!

little individual cakes in cases? Wrapped in Cellophane with nice ribbon. These are the ones I ordered but go to the sellers shop and they might have something a bit more appropriate for a wedding?

Did you see my Christmas cake further up the thread? You can adapt them to a weddingcake slice, just put other decorations on it, like a small favour or flower.

Good though! If Boots can do it, so can we, even better! Do you think the case is plastic? and the cherry a bathpearl?

rose_sparky: Never mind the laughing husband..ignore him
    Welcome to the 'club'
