  • Sorry i didn't reply earlier. (got a dreaded bug)

I am going to buy everything i can find that will be useful for all the things we have been making. Luckily none of this will be very heavy. keep looking out on here by the end of may and i will let you all know what i have managed to buy. We can never have too many things and as i am there for so long i will be in every time they restock
I'll have interent access whilst over there so i could always ask you all if i see anything that could be of use.

ROSEKITTEN.. i will of course look for these for you and certainly post them to you.

chatty123 thanks for that it would be
really good if you could get these for me
let me know you postal details and I will
pop some cash in the post to you.

Also worth a look is the goodwill shops
the US equivelant of our charity shops
I believe they get really good stuff in them
especiualy if you pick the ones in the more
    affluent areas.

  • I used to work for a lady who had a very, very posh friend who thought she was above everyone else, anyway it turns out that she trawled all the "affluent area" charity shops at weekends to buy all her stuff... it just shows you.. doesnt it... hehe!

Been following this thread for the last few weeks but never posted before. I'm off to the states just after easter - we go at least once a year as we have property out there. I'm planning on visiting the dollar stores so I'll post any good finds on here when we get back - have got a few spare cases out there so no problems bringing plenty back.
  • Rosekitten: We travel out on the 24th April and within a couple days i will be in there. good job its got air conditioning i feel i could be in there for quite a while LOL
So expect a PM a few days after if they have these in the store.. If not i will be a frequent visitor as we are staying in a private house and the dollar tree is next door to walmart..and believe it or not, but we do a lot of cycling over there ( in 90 degrees an all) and this store is on one of our favourite cycle routes.. and i have a good rucksack ha ha

  • I've been messing again today and have made this. it's my 1st attempt at the nappy cake and since taking this picture i have pinned the bootees to the top layer instead and then straightened it all up.

went fabric shopping today and never
saw anything I liked, can anyone reccomend
a good online site for buying fabrics
Especially as I am wanting to make
a Harry Potter quilt.I have a large panel for the
    centre of it.36" by 45"
I am wary of buying on ebay as both fabrics
I am after are both quite expensive ones that
    I cant buy localy.Just recieved a parcel from a
seller on ebay and its very poor quality and definatly
not the proper branded item I paid for.So I think for
this below I need to go to a proper retailer.

I would be very grateful for any reccomendations
for reliable places to buy this type of fabric.

lousy pic nicked it of the internet

I have seen this Owl fabric that I wanted to cut
into long panels to use as a border
Well two actualy one is owls sat in rows
    and the other is planets
