Luckily the decorative items i will be looking to buy are only lightweight, so i can fill my suitcase. all i need to do is ditch a couple pairs of the heaviest shorts before coming home ( hubbys ones of course)..0

I would love to see what a
US dollar stores like.I think
sometimes in poundland they
have American stuff in,because you
never see it elsewhere.I had a look at the
range on that site, cellophane in three colours
a $ a roll,the easter baskets were really pretty.
if you think about it its really a 50p shop to
us as the $ is so weak, that makes it even more
of a bargain shopping there.
If its at all possible I would love to try out
a couple of these below they are cello bags
for baskets you do your basket, put it in the
bag and then use a hair dryer to shrink wrap
the contents in place.I post out a couple of
my baskets at Christmas and something like
this would be perfect for holding everything
together in the post
I would happily send you the money to cover
the cost of a couple including the postal cost.:j:j:j0 -
They look perfect. Is there no-where in this country that sells them ?Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

yes but they are really expensive
you can get them on ebay but you
have to buy 25 or 50 at a time.
I have seen them in the past
£6 each !I kind of think that
as I have never used one before
if I make a mess of it and spent
£6 I would be gutted.Plus it really
adds to the cost, those ones
from the $ shop are cheap enough
that you could do a trial run first.
I use regular cello wrap thats fine
as I give out my presents myself
But a couple of them go in the
post and its a job and a half to
get them to stay in place in the
post.Lots of double sided tape
and fingers crossed.
I have just noticed that those have
a pull bow in them as well, that brings
the cost down more as a pull bow here
is 99p each.
.chatty123 you should consider buying
lots of these and selling them in the run
up to Christmas you could undercut
everyone on ebay and still make a good profit.

hey chatty123 you should take a spare suitcase and fill it full of dollar tree goodies to bring back and sell on ebay... you could make a packet!!!!
I keep mentioning a trip to the states to stock up on goodies myself as they are so cheap but OH says when you factor in the cost of the flights and accomodation, you might as well just order via net... I keep going on about a little brown bag... my Mum visits the states every year and brings back some fantastic bits and bobs.. last year she brought back Dichroic jewellery, handbags pendants and fabulous scarfs....she has an eye for lovely goodies!0 -
The dollartree stuff and poundland stuff I expect is made in China, Taiwan etc, they send the best stuff to US and UK get the leftovers...:rotfl:0

rosekitten- Ive been searching for the basket bags in the UK for you and found this link :-
http://www.partybox.co.uk/details.asp?product=8090
also at partybox Ive found this cello wrap, quite pricey but so cute and ideal for a little egg cup gift.. a pretty egg cup with a chocolate egg sat in the top (creme egg, mars egg etc) add a fluffy chick and cover in cello wrap and tie with yellow ribbon,

Delivery is £3.95 per order at partybox so is probs worth buying with another person/ people and splitting the delivery cost...0 -

princesspoppypop those look really good
when I was searching for pull bows near
Christmas they were a lot more expensive
than those.Obviously its a lot more reasonable
to shop early on.
the party bags dont look to be the same ones
that are in the Dollar Tree. With them you place
the bag over.then use a hair dryer to shrink
down the plastic to cover the item you are
packing.I had it in mind to cutone of the
bags in half cover the contents of the basket
and then shrink it down so its resting on the
contents holding it in place.then Use regular
cello & a bow like the rest, that wat it would stop
the contents moving about:j:j:j0 -
rosekitten- this listing on ebay is the shrink to fit cello bags:-
