rosekitten - OH has promised me a trip to Lincoln at the end of March when we take the rest of our leave............lol So, with any luck I might get some stuff from Poundland and other places like that.

I lurve this thread, but I'm still scratching me head & hoping some enterprising crafter will come up with more ideas for the male of the species:p

Having said that, I'll definately be looking at the footie bits in a new light. We are inviting my cousin to stay for a couple of days over Easter & as he's a diabetic something like this will be ideal. Plus he's 50 in May, so plenty to think about but more ideas too please:D

I'm also keen to find a place that will do fancy-ish soaps in stuff suitable for sensitive skin.....or can I grate a bar meself to melt into moulds? Hmmm...might have to experiment...never tried it before with anything....so hold yer noses cuz I don't think the smell from the microwave will be that pleasant:rotfl:

  • mary43 - what are you using for stoppers on the wine bottles you have filled with bubble bath? Are you using ordinary corks? Ive got a wine bottle all prepared for some bubble bath, got the tags and raffia to fancy it up. I was thinking of using some fancy bottle stoppers.....

The first two I did I washed the corks and popped them back in (rather.......OH did, they don't go in as easy as they come out !)
The other two were bottles he'd had with screw on tops so I just screwed them back in. Small whisky bottle had a sort of cork top but went in easy as pie.
They look really good I think..............printed off one sort of 'quirky' bubble bath image for the bottle I'm giving to one of our ex foster boys, the rest I found some nice vintage bath images. Just going to tie ribbons round the neck of the bottle to finish them off.
For me I felt that was enough. Didn't want to disguise the fact they're wine bottles.
Ooops.............haven't done any tags for mine yet.........forgot about that:j

  • I dont want to disguise the wine bottle either, its for my friend and she loves rose wine. I was going to decant some pretty pink bubble bath but add some pink bath glitter to it also as my friend is very girly and loves pretty things. The pink raffia I`m going to tie around the top with the tag ( made from pink card with sequin detailing. Ive also been thinking and Im going to make my own decorated stoppers for the tops using corks, beads and ribbon etc.

Such a great idea mary43 my idea is a really girly one, but I`m going crazy thinking of so many themes for these too.....

Im now asking everyone I know if they ever have any empty wine bottles....

OH is very proud of 'ours' - (have to say 'ours' as it was his idea to get rid of this Tescos cheap bubble bath we'd had given up............we'd got so much we'd given some away, used a load of it and still it sat there looking at us.
When I started on the hamper idea and doing it all as cheaply as poss OH suggested the wine bottled bubble bath......totally free he said. Hed got the bottles anyway, we'd got the bubble bath, images printed off computer, even had the ribbon given me by a friend...............lol Daren't do any more........I'll run out of people to give them to...............lol

finaly got back into the 99p
    shop and who should come
    popping out of the woodwork
"hurry up and I will give you a lift home"
Got all the way home and realised
I had forgotten to buy the very thing
I went in for fluffy Chicks !

I went in to Poundland prior to my
visit to the 99p shop. They have
    some lovely craft stuff in,really
nice face cloths 5 in a pack.
Good colours too each pack had two
white ones and three of the same
    colour in each pack.Lovely colours
but I noticed that they had some
nice green ones you could get
lime green, leaf green or dark green.
Fancied the leaf green for making
    christmas trees,but the queue was
massive at the tills.I will have to go
back when the novelty of a new store
has worn off,its been shut for refubishment
and I think everyone is poundland starved
because its always been a popular shop
    but today it was chaotic.

  • I wish we had Dollar Tree Stores in the UK, they get so much nicer things in America.
There is only one pound shop in the town I live in and the floor is always filthy on the way in and crammed with people so you cant get anywhere near to look.

I`m hoping to find a quiet time to go in and grab some bits, photo frames, candles etc to embellish.
  • princesspoppypop.... i know what you mean ... i am going on holiday in 8 weeks for a month and nearby to where we stay is a shopping center and guess what my fav shop is. the dollar tree. I have started my shoppping list ready. poor hubby he' doesn't know yet.
