BigMummaF thanks for that,I was sure I
had heard of something similar too,but because
it was so long ago I couldent remember the exact
details, but it makes sense when you think about
    it.

I remember my son decorating a little set of
wooden drawers that he painted and covered
    with loads of different stickers
and afterwards he painted the whole thing
    with pva glue.
this is a pic of it below he did this about
10 years ago.It has stickers all over front
sides and top,its the best pic I could get
but if you think about it its been in constant
use since then and the colour and stickers
have stayed in place and theres been no
    discoloration

this one is my younger sons
toy story drawers that he made when
he was four years old, again his has lasted
    really well too.

We got these little chest of drawers
in IKEA they still sell them, they are unpainted
but only cost between £5 to £7 depending on
the size, mine had great fun making these.
they are very useful every time I fine a tiny
piece of a toy thats laying around I pop it
    in the drawers.

    thats where I got mine

Did you see the easter bonnet kits ?

they had the straw bonnet type but they
also had one with all the decorations in
and the twmplate for making a hat, thought
that was a good one as you could make
any type of hat from it.

  • rosekitten- I must have missed those. They sound lovely. Ill have a look for them 2moro when Im in town. ooo nooo more projects... might as well get the egg decorating kit while im there... going to make an easter tree using willow branch and they will hang nicely off there.

:T hi all I am craft daft and have loved this thread have spent ages looking over all the replies and pics and have been in heaven lol.

I did have a few ideas re the cases, perhaps someone who has bought some could use a blade to cut down the length and cut it in such a way as to make a template. If you then draw around this as a template onto stiff hard card you have a template you could use over and over again.

Also if you have a printer you could search for pictures of fruit or whatever you want the theme of your cake to be and save the pic, then print off on photo paper to give it a glossy look. (tescos do really cheap photo paper) You could also do the same for your muffin cases to give it a glossy posh finish.

OMG! over running with ideas now and blame you all lol.

Had another idea clares accesories have lots of different types of earings necklaces etc of all different types fruit skull and cross bones etc etc theses could be adapted to make a teen muffin and also could double up as a wee pressie as well.

I have lots of fruit and sweetie etc type designs on my computer (dont ask lol) but am not sure how to put them on here so that you could all click on them and use them as I think they would be ideal, if anyone can tell me how i will put them on here for people to use. happy crafting

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi all

Son in nursery is having an easter bonnet parade-any inspiration on how to make a manly easter bonnet which isn't yellow and fluffy and suitable for a rough and tumble 3.5 yr old?

I've bought a straw hat and chicks, but it looks so girly! Any ideas gratefully received on how to defeminise it!
Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

its not always as easy doing a boys hat

if you can get into a poundland shop they
had a kit to make a bonnet you got everything
to decorate it but inside was a cardbord template
so you could make your own bonnet,Ths was a
very simple style,I was looking at it and noticed
you could make a top hat from the pattern.

If you think about the mad hare from Alice in
wonderland it may be more manly than a bonnet
you could keep your egg shells when you use eggs
clean them carefuly and then glue them to the rim
and sit a fluffy chick inside each one.dot a few
mini eggs ,as well as a few clock faces, trying to
remember what the Hare looked like.

you could always have a bunny rabbit
on it,maybe have the top of the hat raised a little
    with a bunny poking out.

By the way these kits were not laid out
in the shop on the shelves in our poundland
shop but hanging from a hook near the end
of the aisle. So not as noticed as the other
    things.

    Nice to see you here

I had forgotten about Claires I know from time to
tie they have really good offers on.those strawberries
we are all hankering after are lovely but so expensive.
This may be a good alternative.

I would think that if you just put those images on here
like an ordiary image, like we do from photobucket
then anyone could right click to print it or save the
    images for themselves

if you look on page 33 of this thread
we have step by step pics on how
    to load pictures on here.

Nice to see you here hope that you will
come on here again, when ever you feel
    like it.
