Son in nursery is having an easter bonnet parade-any inspiration on how to make a manly easter bonnet which isn't yellow and fluffy and suitable for a rough and tumble 3.5 yr old?
I've bought a straw hat and chicks, but it looks so girly! Any ideas gratefully received on how to defeminise it!
I saw a lady one time who covered a hat in green to make it look like grass, made some stumps a bat and ball had all the little chicks stood around as fielders and wait for it............
Called it a 'chicket' match :rotfl:
I thought it looked brilliant for a boys hat.0 -
Thats a great idea... I love it...!0

:j I have found all different coloured flannels in bodycare for 59p!!
They have mint green, lemon, pink, blue (baby and navy) peach, white and brown (could be used for coffee muffin as well as choc logs)
Hobbycraft are selling clear cellophane (?sp) for £2.99 but there are also sale items of cellophane with valentines stuff on them like hearts etc they are 3 for 2 in sale.
I also got some jumbo brads which look just like smarties on top of the 'muffin'.
Another thought I had was you can buy fruit shaped buttons strawberrys, lemons, and bannana etc I just cant remember where I saw them.
Hope this helps xx0 -
The flannels sound lovely with a range of colours like that. Have to find out if we've got a 'bodycare' in our area.
Like the idea of strawberry or fruit buttons...........hadn't thought of that and am having a job finding artificial ones for muffins........we've got a hobby shop in town here that's mostly knitting and sewing ..........have to have a look in there I think. You never know.
Our nearest Hobby craft is about 20 miles away like most of the shops and being a small town ours are a bit limited.Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

smosmo the labels are lovely I saw a
a small open box in Asda with the same
marshmallow design on it containing
flowers,it looked really pretty.
I have snaffled a few of them
mary43 I wish we lived nearer a hobbycraft
I know its not the cheapest place to shop
for stuff, but they do really good reductions
in their sales and often have good multi buys.
soblivion I love the Chickets idea its perfect
for boys.
Fifi mad mum what a shame no Easter parade
for the kids, maddening though when you have
tried to get organised for it ahead of time.
