  • Brilliant thank you - I’ll need to catch up but payday is Friday so that not a problem. I’m going to do a bigger amount on paydays I think. Brilliant idea ❤️

  • CazzirLT plans for our pennies that’s a good idea. Mine is really simple each Christmas I spend about £450 that includes a big food shop that keeps me going for a while, a big tree, booze which I hardly buy any other time and presents. I always end up putting some of it, not all onto my card which is stupid when I’m trying to get my debt down. January is a tough month as I’m self employed, my car insurance is due I save £150 paying it annually and my tv license comes out. If I do this and add in a bit more at least I’ll start the year for once with a fighting chance. Sorry it’s not a more exotic plan.

Check first post for numbers! All up to date :)

This year I'm using a Pot in my Monzo account for my Challenge. I don't have any specific goals for the money this year, just to get to the end of the year!
Last year I spent it in dribs and drabs through the year on things I wouldn't have been able to if I hadn't been putting it aside, so I got a new sofa, which I used £450 towards (sofa was £779 on special, usually £1300 and honestly it's the best money I think I've ever spent!), I also got the dining table and chairs I wanted using some of this towards it, and finally also the shoe unit I wanted.  I now have every big thing I needed for the house and wouldn't have been able to do it without this challenge!
However I want that lump sum at the end this year.  Mum did it last year and did it with change.  Dad was shocked when he realised how much she had!!
