Dipping my orange toes into the water..

Yes it does shock you doesn't it! I understand they need to make up for lost covers but gosh! Hopefully the shock will put me off doing it too often! Although popping into m and s is a bad habit that is back. One positive of lock down was being able to plan meals more easily. Must get back to that properly.3

So long over due update. Work has been crazy. All the extra planning to make events covid safe or cancelling them has been exhausting. But the end is in site!! Summer holidays here I come 😀
So the figures...
Mortgage total - £305,844.38
Total reduction this year - £24,155.12
Total needed to hit goal - £5,844.38
Daily interest - £14.21
So excited that it is only 5k ish until we have a mortgage amount starting with a 2!!!3 -
Wow that's an amazing reduction this year! I'll be sad that you'll leave me alone in the 300s but very happy that you're nearly there!3
-
Thanks @remote_control sorry to leave you by yourself! You will get there too.
Summer holidays are here and this month has already been super spendy with birthdays and a trip to Cornwall!
Going to try and check in daily with my spends in the hope that will keep me on track!2 -
So Monday and today's spends were £4.50 on lunch at Tesco. Had nothing on fridge after being in Cornwall so was a necessity. Food shop all delivered so will make my lunch tomorrow. Also got my second jab booked for tomorrow too!2
-
Tuesday was jab day, which turned into shopping day! £50 spent on two tops but they were needed. My wardrobe is feeling very sorry for itself! Wednesday £25 on a new violin chin rest.. these expensive children I tell you!2

Mse victory! Ordered cake for DD and m*s sent the wrong one. Complained and got a full refund, plus £5 goodwill voucher 😀2

So it is update time...
Mortgage total - £303, 950
Total reduction this year - £26, 049.50
Total needed to hit goal - £3,950
We have paid off over 25k this year woop woop! Feeling positive but also desperate to have the mortgage starting with a 2! Realistically however I just don't have extra funds right now to make it happen next month..might try persuading Mr Orange toes 🤣 but if not in two months it will happen!
Holidays continue a pace, kids in camp - totally money saving as they do lots of great activities and take a packed lunch. One even did quad biking!
Hair appointment today.. totally not money saving!! 😉3 -
It's the little things.. since starting this journey what I notice is that I have made positive small changes. For example when I used to go to spin class I would buy a smoothie for £4.80 every time. I'm going tonight but have made my own. In the holidays I would buy the girls lunch out practically every day. Now we have packed lunch every day. I'm not perfect, but these small changes do make a difference.2

£4.80 is a massive difference! Well done you 😀😀😀Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!3
