Thanks @caeler lockdown has made it much easier I have to say!
Low spend day today. £3 for a dozen eggs from a local farm.
10k steps completed and food used up from fridge and freezer. Loving frozen quorn mince as it cooks from frozen and can be quickly made into a chili.

Next doors house went on the market last week for £750k and is already under offer! Presumably they got near the asking price given the quick turn around so hoping ours would be worth a similar amount- ours is bigger downstairs but smaller upstairs. If we achieved 750k that would mean we almost own 60% of our house. Have to say that makes me feel better given our horrifically high mortgage!
    Hope everyone is well x

    So the monthly stats..
    Mortgage total - £319, 931.52
    Total reduction in 2021 - £10,000
Remaining term of mortgage - 14 years- 2035.
    Daily interest - £15.37 (UGGGH!!!)
So £19,931.52 to go to reach this year's target. We are bang on track but there is no room for error if we want to reach our goal.
Would really like to see that daily interest fee dip below £15 soon!

  • You are doing so well. The small and medium term goals are so helpful.

Thanks @AgathaSquirrel yes you are right. I think when you have such a large mortgage it can seem overwhelming, so small goals definitely help!
Really hoping the interest rate one will be achievable in a few months!

    Expensive month do far!

Usually it would be expensive because I had spent lots of days out and rating out in the holidays with the kids. Fortunately since we can't do anything anyway I booked them into holidays camps using the excess of holiday vouchers I have. They have loved them and it had me at very minimal day to day spending. Mum guilt eased!

However! I've had to pay for all the extra curricular clubs this month, plus two flower girl dresses for my little brothers wedding and I may have booked a holiday!
In my defence it is just a long weekend at a forest holidays place. As it is August and no one can go abroad it was ..gulp.. £1060. A lot I know but I lured in by the hot tub! I was also able to use clubcard vouchers so I only paid £895, which is a bit more like it. A landal place I wanted to go to was £3000 ..who pays those prices??! I also saw that centre parcs was fully booked even though you can hardly use the pool- which is surely the point?!

Almost the end of the holidays. Off to a drive in cinema today £25 per car so not cheap but possibly the only paid for activity this holiday. Plus the kids have persuaded my dad to take them to decathlon for new shoes! One less expense for me!
Bank account is looking sad only £800 in there so need to make a budget for last two weeks.
Thinking £150 per week, then I will just make my overpayment for the month. Fingers crossed!
