In mending news, I refixed my glasses again last night. About 2 years ago my dog chewed them and the bits that go behind your ears were left chewed and the ends had come off leaving metal spikes. I had some Sugru moldable glue so I molded that over both arms and they were usable again. Queue two years later the Sugru fix had broken off both arms, so I opened my last packet of black Sugru and molded it on to them again.
I know you are supposed to get new glasses every two years, but I can see fine out of mine and I don't wear them all the time, so I am quite happy to make them last as long as possible. The good thing about the Sugru being black and on the ears is that its completely unnoticeable when you are wearing them, so I don't feel tatty or ridiculous.Live the good life where you have been planted.

A friend gfted me a couple of plastic straws.
I'll store them in my sewing box so I don't accidentally throw them out or loose track of them.
Thank you to the wonderful kind formites who have offered to send me some. Such kindness is greatly appreciatiated.8 -
