Recent MMMing
Make do: Remodelled the dogs PJ's so they fit better, and altered some face masks, so they fit better too......... Sewing central is closed for the weekend, as DS2 is back for a flying visit 🙂 and he needs his room 🙄
Mend: Doggy chewed the toe of DH brand new boots 😱 We eventually found a shoe repairers who could fix it.......Thank you Lord Timpson, your lady cobbler was wonderful, and was so sorry for DH, she refused to charge him ❤️
Minimise: The daily challenge of sorting drawers, cupboards, and shelves continues through March. Another bag taken to the clothing bank. DMiL clothing EBay sales have reached 3 figures. Also, we have sold the old tumble drier on the Bay.........The chap who collected it, was at pains to point out how easy it was to repair, but as he has the skills, and we don't, it was a win, win situation. 🥳.....more space in the utility room !
Dolly: Keep up the good work!
When I found out shortly afterwards that the entire Timspon's chain a) has a policy of offering good employment and training to people just come out of prison to try and help them stay out of further trouble and make a new starts and b) offer free dry-cleaning and pressing for your clothes if you are on benefits and have a job interview, I went and asked if I could pay, and they still refused but suggested a good local charity, so I went and donated to them.
Very nice people, Timpson's...2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

Mend - seem to be one a mission with this. Need to collect my boots from cobblers today and have found a pair of shoes that need healing. I am aiming not to purchase another pair of any footwear this year.
Make do - still dining from the freezer, happy with that.
Minimise - Stuff is still going from the loft each time I go up there, it is more frequent that one might imagine the need to venture up loft ladders at this time of life.Seem to have minimised my monthly shopping money by half already, that's ok as I now have all the cupboard items I need to my minimisation on the move.

Mend - the fleece band inside my winter hat was coming away so I have stitched that back in place and put it in the wash. I wanted to wear my red bobble hat for a change but I can't find it anywhere, it must be in the loft along with tons and tons of other clothes, it is this constant searching for things and the time spent managing my possessions (many of which I rarely use or don't actually need) which has led me to want to radically simplify our home.Minimise - another pair of jeans sold.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/77997844 I have tried my best to almost always buy second hand clothes one the last few years, there are some exception to this socks, show and underwear. I have been selling stuff on depot and it's going rather well, people can be a little aggressive, but apart from that it's fine. For more specialist items it might be worth trying sites that only have one type of clothes like https://www.bride2bride.co.uk/ for example?10

I don't know if this is make do or mend but it is definitely minimise...DH just gave me a lockdown haircut. I asked for about an inch off but he clearly didn't learn his measurements. Approximately 3 inches shorter now. At least I got my money's worth 🤣9
