Make do, Mend and Minimise in 2021

I've realised just the other day that I have been doing some minimising and mending. It has now become such a habit I subconsciously do it now which is really good news I think. Anyway, I had been sorting through my old sewing and knitting magazines and taken out the articles and patterns I wanted to keep in lever arch files. A lot of plastic wallets I already had the hole punches had split so I got some parcel tape and repaired those bits so I could use them again to put the articles/patterns in to keep them from tearing. I have also replaced my old laptop so cleared it of data and gave it to my sister to use who cannot afford one at the moment and hasn't got one. The last thing is I have started sorting the stuff out in the loft (I don't have a lot up there which is why I haven't bothered up until now but I am running out of things to do). Two boxes of old toys came down. Some had got ruined so they went in the bin. The others I have managed to resurrect so a couple of dolls have gone to my Mum's for the grandchildren to play with and two dolls have gone into the charity bag for donation. I can't wait for the charity shops to open so I can finally get all this stuff out of my flat.

Morning Peeps,
Bit of minimising gone on yesterday as I moved the contents of socks and trollies(underwear) drawers to their new location in the new wardrobe (ex showroom display) posh drawers. (bedroom been redecorated and fitted out by DH) There were some findings of strange things that went into the bin. Was pleased that my current drawer storage folding boxes did fit into the new location.
Make do - Just pondering what to do with the pair of empty drawers?? May use them in the loft and stack them together securely to repurpose them for my "craft den" that seems to be developing up there. Keeps the rest of the house tidy as only a 2 bed.
Mending - not much happening here at the moment.
Enjoy the sunshine we seem to be getting too.Anything is better than nothing-check back and see

We have had help minimising the stuff in our garage: we had a rat! It bit thought our plastic swimming pool, through the fabric of the party tent, and through most of the old towels I kept in the garage for mucky jobs. After 3 months, it finally ate the poison, died in some corner of the false ceiling, and then it took us 5 days to find it! The smell!!!!! Yuck. But it's gone now, and so are the items it destroyed.

Evening Peeps,
looks like we are busy in other areas.
This is a double make do and minimise all in one,
we have some old used off road motorbike tyres as GD rides motocross. There were some old stored over the fence that were to be used for another task, anyhow grandma has decided to make bottomless "plant pots" of them for the fruit trees.
Still not got the sewing machine outAnything is better than nothing-check back and see

I'm off work this week & next. Had lots of plans for things outside, but we've had snow & stormy weather. A friend gave me a bag of woollen jumpers/cardigans, so in between looking after a sick husband, I've made 2 bears from them. Advertised them on a local craft page, & sold one within 5 minutes! Still at least 6 or 7 jumpers to cut up yet.
Been minimising things in the kitchen a bit too. Hubby usually does all the cooking, but I'm currently doing it, so some things being used up or tidied away.
Finished knitting a jumper for eldest son last night, next project is to use up some chunky wool to make my youngest some fingerless gloves & if enough wool, a hat tooUse it up, wear it out

The bears sound very interesting, Thrifty_Taylor. Any chance of a photo?
I did a stocktake in the kitchen and garage freezers, and the cupboard under the stairs. Then I moved some of the food to the kitchen cupboards to start to use things up!
I found mini hot cross buns in the garage freezer from two years ago. They're not bad at all, especially with some strawberry jam.😉
I had yarn left over from a blanket I made in January/ February, so I'm making a book cover to use some up.2025 Fashion on the ration

Certainly Mrs CD. I often just use one jumper per bear, but have two navy cardigans in the bag, so thought I'd mix it up a bit!Use it up, wear it out
