Absolutely agree maman.  I tend to do this every winter when the veg are at their cheapest.  This is the second lot I've done this year but have used up all the other bags I had.

Couldn't believe the wind last night, it was so strong.  Still quite strong now but not as noisy - suspect it seems quieter because there's more ambient noise.

DH bought a smoking kit for the BBQ recently and so when we went shopping we bought a side of salmon and a couple of good sliced haddock fillets to smoke.  He started yesterday with salt/sugar/dill mix rubbed all over so this morning has been drained and dried and now on the BBQ smoking until this evening!  Should be ready by about 6.30 so may have some later this evening - pity it won't be ready before dinner - we could have it for starter - maybe we should have dinner a bit later🤔.

    Today's plan:

B - scrambled eggs and spinach on 1 toast plus 1/2 slice with Marmite and 1/2 slice with marmalade  - HEB; P; S; F; 2.5
    L - carrot & lentil soup - P; S; F
    D - beef stew; mash - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Syns - 1/2 tsp butter 2; tsp marmalade 0.5

Have a good day and keep safe.

Try not to feel slimming guilt klew. It's happened and really could have been much worse.  It is shocking though how many syns are  in some pre-prepared stuff. I think what stops me is that  I hate to waste syns. I always think of what I could have had instead. 🤔🍷😉

Storm Christoph is here but nothing like as bad as in some parts of the country, just wet and windy.  Hope you're OK bubbs as I heard it was bad around your way.

I'm likely to have about 8 syns left at the end of today which I'll leave just in case. Feeling much slimmer today so I think I can safely say that Christmas indulgence  is behind me. 😊

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash, baked beans (F), fried egg, bacon (P). HEB toast, HEA milk
L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), spring onion, beetroot (S)
D- chicken casserole (P,S,F), cauli, broccoli, cabbages (S)
    Syns- cornflour 1

Afternoon all.  Well done on the losses sary and jax!  I need to get back in the habit of cooking batches of bolognese in the slow cooker maman - it makes things so much easier!  Love a good fish in parsley sauce bubbs, almost picked the young's ones up at the weekend but they're so expensive!

Well I didn't really stop yesterday and spent most of the day walking round the hospital which was good for the steps but not good for my anxiety.  Have realised that when I'm stressed I comfort eat and when I'm anxious I can't bring myself to eat so yesterday I didn't have lunch and really had to force myself to eat some dinner.  Felt so rubbish about coming in today but managed to have some weetabix for breakfast and have just managed to force myself to eat a couple of satsumas as "lunch".

The day hasn't been too bad so far, just think I feel a bit lost and don't really know what I'm supposed to be doing!  My manager is really supportive and ready to pull me back to my day job when I need him to but I think I just need to get past this initial settling in phase, and it's only for about 4 weeks...  Oh well!  Dinner tonight is going to be some chicken thighs baked in the oven with a risotto filled with leeks, courgettes and some lemon.

Hope you're all staying safe and looking after yourselves.

    Evening,
Storm Christoph is not so windy here, but it's certainly rainy.  My eldest DSS works for the environment agency and is responsible for part of the River Nene, and it's been non-stop for him since well before Christmas.  There's just nowhere for all this rain to go still.  Hope everyone is safe and not near to any flooding.

Ruby, I hope things get better for you.  It must be awful feeling so stressed or anxious.

    Plan for today:
B - porridge HEB, milk from HEA1, water & skinny syrup & cinnamon
L - HM tomato soup (that I diligently made before going to work today *polishes halo*)
snack - SF jelly (0.5) fat free yogurt (1)
D - Chicken in (jar of) pasta sauce and WM pasta (4), cheese HEA2

So long as I'm counting the syns from a jar of sauce, I don't feel too guilty about it.  My life is busy, and for me it saves time and waste.  Plus I am a reluctant cook, so whatever works is good for me , so you're in good company Klew.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

Mmm I started off well today. I was sewing - trying to revamp a couple of swivel arm chairs and as I was watching the rain through the window and contemplating how I was tackling the chair I was nibbling....could have been worse. I was about to open some shortbread biscuits but had a satsuma instead
Breakfast - heb toast with beans with a tomato chopped into them and hea cheese grilled on top.
dinner - barmcake with low fat spread 7 syns, roast beef, onion and tomato
tea - chicken, sprouts, carrots, mash 2 syns
snacks - crisps 7 syns, daim bar sweet 1 syn, small  snickers bar 5 syns, satsuma, apple
22 syns total. Ahh well tomorrow is another day 🤞
