I'm another that freezes celery. It does keep quite well in the fridge but once it starts to look a bit sad I chop it up. I do the same with carrots too and peppers. It makes life very easy when I want to make soup or a casserole.
I was going to make syn free ham hash today but realised I don't have a tin of ham available. I must stock up again (usually from £shop). We'll have corned beef hash instead, which I actually prefer, but it's 3.5 syns.
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash (F), scrambled eggs (P), HEB toast, HEA1 milk
L- lentil soup (P,S) and maybe something else if I feel hungry enough🤔
D- corned beef hash (P,F,S) with HEA2 cheese topping, cauli, broccoli, cabbages (S)
Syns- corned beef 2.5, horseradish 10 -
Well we're back home already. I had a nasty fall yesterday on the ferry - fell down a flight of stairs and have badly bruised the whole of my right side. My thigh and shoulder have huge swellings on them and I am extremely stiff. Didn't sleep well as had to sleep on the "wrong" side of the bed so I could lay on my left side. It was really difficult getting out of bed as can't put any pressure on my right hand/arm/shoulder and need to do that in order to get out of bed - it is a high bed over a garage and it just didn't feel safe getting down the ladder even with DH's help. Even difficult to get dressed as hurts to lift my arm to shoulder level; DH even had to do up my bra as I couldn't reach round to do it.
No sure how SW friendly food will be as I can't do any chopping. DH can do a bit of cooking but it's mainly fry ups and we can't live on those and he won't actually let me do anything so for a few days it'll be whatever he can find in the freezer which just needs reheating.

OH NO @joedenise!
what a shame, i hope the swelling eases soon, arnica is fantastic but have you seen a doctor? forget about the chopping you can catch up with yourself later0 -
Oh dear denise. What bad luck. 🤗
I agree you should check that you've not broken anything. Knowing you, there's plenty in the freezer until you feel more comfortable. Supermarkets do sell ready chopped vegetables or you could offer instructions or live off fry up. There's worse things to eat! 🤣0 -
Evening all

OK everyone. DH took me to the local Minor Injury Unit but because my hip hurts they aren't able to X-rays there so sent me to the main hospital (40 minute drive away). Got there 3.45 and took over 15 minutes to find a parking space so actually went into A&E just after 4pm. Didn't get seen by a Dr until 8.15pm; had X-rays of my pelvis, chest and shoulder and everything is OK as I suspected just badly bruised. Just got to take some pain killers to try and keep the pain under control.
Food has been diabolical today - egg sandwich for breakfast; turkey salad sandwich for lunch and then at the hospital they came round with, yes you guessed it, more sandwiches so I had a chicken mayo sandwich. Will definitely be back on plan tomorrow. There's some mixed bean goulash and rice left from last night so we'll have that. Will just have to decide what to have for breakfast and lunch but I suspect it will involve eggs of some sort!
I'm just going to take it easy for a day or two and let DH deal with food for a change!

Well done for getting checked out denise. I'm glad you haven't hurt yourself too badly. Take it easy. Enjoy your fry up 😋0

Morning all! Sorry to hear about your fall denise, but glad it didn't result in too bad of an injury although bruising can sometimes be worse. Take it easy and just rest, no use worrying about food and I'm sure your DH will make sure you're looked after.
Managed a PB today on my 5K but it's wiped me out. Need to crack on with some work so just a quick update. Had usual ff yogurt, strawberries and granola for breakfast. Lunch will probably be a tuna salad again and dinner is cottage pie using the first of our potato harvest from the garden (DH is very proud!)
