I'm with you on the load of tripe beanie. My dad loved it and it smelled like the cows were walking through the kitchen! ☹️ Just the thought stops me even trying the French tripe sausage that I see on menus. ☹️
I bet tripe is syn free! 🤣

Morning all!  Hope you have a good weekend away denise.  Love all the bargains you find bubbs but I think I end up shopping after everyone else has nabbed them all 😆  Never had tripe and don't think I ever could beanie and maman 🤢

Last run of C25K Week 5 done and it was 20 minutes without a break 😳 quite proud that I actually did it without stopping although my walking cool down was quicker than my "running" pace 😂  Definitely not a runner and prefer walking but I'm doing this to prove to myself that I can do it.  Always wanted to be able to run a 5k and who knows I might actually start going to parkrun when I've finished (and they've re-opened)

Had some more berries and raspberry skyr yogurt when I got back and then lunch is the last of my prepped salads for the week (think this one is ham and egg).  Dinner is leftover chilli on a jacket potato, with some cheese and salad.  Nice and simple, just what I need on a Friday after what feels like a really long week.

    Morning everyone,
maman - the chicken potato and kale bake is from the Take 5 book. I can share the recipe if you don't have that one.
beanielou - tripe!!! It would have to be minus syns for me to even consider it - gross.

Nice bright day here. No running today. Day from hell at work yesterday - meeting with statisticians on the topic of drug deaths. If they mentioned suicide once, they must have mentioned it 50 times during the meeting. My nephew took his life so I'm particularly sensitive. Just felt drained afterwards and took the puppy out for a walk to clear my head urggh

Have weighed today and have lost 0.75lb - is that even allowed? My scales show 0.25lbs increments as they are digital. Anyway, all good as I'm still under that last big number, now by 1.25lbs :)

    Food today will be:
B - LM sausages, poached egg, tomatoes, mushrooms
L - cous cous, ham, salad leaves, tomatoes, pickles - 1 syn
D - grilled gammon, sw chips, baked beans
    Snacks - grapes, satsumas
    HEXB - benefit bar
    HEXA1 - milk
    HEXA2 - mini babybel
Syns planned - 1 plus may have a rum and pepsi max later, so 3.5 total

    Have a good day everyone,
    Coxy

    Morning all,

Ub sauce, am I being thick what is it?

Update – last nights dinner was s&v hula hoop puffs at 11.30pm – father didn’t get back from hospital until 9.30 so by the time we got him sorted and I got home it was that time. I had a huge bowl of cereal this morning I was sooo hungry!

However the week food wise has been pretty good so im hoping the scales will show some positive feedback! Fingers and toes and the dogs crossed!

    b- granola (large) ss milk

l – chicken and sweetcorn soup

d – chicken wrapped in bacon medallion BP (using whatever is in the fridge!)

Of course your 0.75lb counts coxy. It's a step in the right direction! Well done!😊

Yes please to the kale and potato recipe.

Great idea to aim towards a 5K Park Run ruby. You don't even have to run if you don't want to. It's good to be able to tick off achievements.

Sorry about my shorthand klew. It's like all the acronyms in Line of Duty! 🤣

UB is Uncle Bens'. Bubbs recommended a sweet and sour cooking sauce that's just 6 syns for the whole jar (which is meant to serve 4). It's normally about £1.85 but this week it's on offer in Asda at £1. Unfortunately it can be hard to come by as some places don't stock the NAS (No Added Sugar😉) version.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash, skinny syrup, banana (F), HEB porridge, HEA1 milk, raspberries (S)
    L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), pickles (S)
D- Fake KFC (P), SW chips (F) creamy cabbage with HEA2, green stuff (asparagus, mange tout, broccoli)  mushrooms and tomatoes
    Syns- Weekend Wine! 😁

Chicken, Potato and Kale bake recipe (serves 4):
    • 1kg charlotte or other waxy potatoes, cut lengthways (I used miniature potatoes from Tesco)
    • 1 large garlic bulb
    • grated zest and juice of 2 lemons
    • 12 skinless and boneless chicken thighs
    • 200g shredded kale
    Preheat oven to 200 C/Fan 180 C/Gas 6

Cook potatoes in boiling water for 12-15 minutes. Drain well and tip into a roasting tin.

Peel and finely grate 3 garlic cloves, mix with half of the lemon zest and all of the lemon juice and rub into the chicken to coat. Season lightly, slash the flesh of each chicken thigh a few times and arrange on top of the potatoes. Tuck the remaining garlic cloves around the potatoes. Spray with a little low-calorie cooking spray and cook for 30 mins (recipe says 20 but it's better left longer imho)

Scatter the kale over the chicken and potatoes, spray with low-calorie cooking spray and cook for a further 15 minutes until crispy.

Scatter the lemon zest over the dish to serve. We usually pop the garlic cloves on the plate, but you could do this before serving.

It's easy, yummy, very garlicky and most importantly - IT'S FREE!!
