I think the wonky veg  like carrots and potatoes is matched to Aldi but other stuff is more expensive.

I've just got 2 under counter freezers. We had a chest freezer outside but didn't replace it when it died but bought the second indoor one instead.

It's a bit of an art form packing them though. 🤣

Cauli are 79p, think carrots 41p, broc 50p odd, they are a staple with me and more or less the same price and the cauliflower better  quality

I've got an outdoor chest freezer and have decided when it dies I'll be replacing it with an upright under counter sized one and see how I manage.  If necessary I can always get another the same size and have them side by side in the space the chest freezer currently takes up!  My biggest problem is that the only upright one I can find that's suitable for outdoors is about a cm too wide for the cupboard door to close so I'm still looking to find one the right size which will fit in the outdoor cupboard I have!

You won;t get the same amount of food in them Denise , if you freeze bread 1 loaf is half a shelf!

I usually only freeze a single loaf.  If I buy 2 I'll put one in the fridge and the other in the freezer and that does both of us for the week easily, quite often we only use the one in the fridge so if I don't have the space for bread then I won't bother as DH often makes himself sourdough.  I know I won't be able to store as much food but really for just the 2 of us we really shouldn't need to store so much!  Sometimes I think we have far too much food in the freezer.  It doesn't help of course when it comes to the HM ready meals as not only do I sometime batch cook but also I quite often cook meals for 4 so 2 portions end up in the freezer!  That's why I do the monthly meal plan as it helps to use up some of the ready meals from the freezer!

    Good morning,

I'm loving all the discussions on freezers :) Trouble with us is there are 5 of us, 4 adults and a 17 yo, so no chance of keeping much in the freezer for long. Only an endless supply of bananas which will hopefully make it to muffins/cake at some point....

I weighed in with a STS this morning which is understandable given it's star week but annoying too. I looked back at last months' star week and same thing happened then. I will plod on and keep tracking my food as it is working, slowly slowly...

    Food today:
    B: puffed wheat, skimmed milk - HEXB/HEXA1
L: baked beans, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, ham
D: lemon and pepper baked salmon, jacket potato (1), samphire, green beans, carrots, 1 tbsp light mayo (2)
    Snacks: apple, benefit bar (3)
    HEXA2 - milk for tea/coffee
Total syns planned: 8.5 - will have a single rum and pepsi max later ;)

    Have a good day all,
    Coxy

Morning all, it was really bright first thing this morning but clouded over a bit now and definitely pretty cold.  Hoping to get out later as fed up not getting out enough.

Ended on 15 syns yesterday as decided to have some chocolate in the evening!

Coxy it seems to be quite common for star week to stop you losing - I don't even have that excuse any more!

    Today's plan:

    B - stuffed mushroom - S; F; part HEA2 (used about 10g of grated cheese)
    L - scrambled eggs & spinach on toast - HEB; P; S
D - KFC Friday, corn on the cob; chips; beans; coleslaw - P; F; 1
    S - 2 Ryvita; Primula Light - HEA2 (part); 3

    HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese (part); Primula Light
    Syns - Ryvita 3; 25g reduced fat coleslaw 1; rum & ginger beer 5

Not much Speed in the plan but will also have some fruit to help make up for it.

STS is better than a gain even if it is from water retention coxy.  It'll come good in the end. 😊

It's bright but cold here too denise. Only 7 degrees but definitely going out for a walk later.  Cupboards look a bit bare too so will link it with a visit to Aldi.

I think my freezer drawers must be bigger than yours bubbs. 😜 Although I only keep 2 loaves (large for DH and small for me) at a time, there's plenty of room for probably 4 large loaves in each drawer. We eat all our bread from the freezer as it's invariably for toast. I think I'd keep HM ready meals in the freezer if I had limited space like you coxy. Unless the 5 of you share the cooking, I'm sure there's be plenty of CBA days when I'd want something quick and easy.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash (F), HEB toast, HEA milk, fried eggs (P), mushrooms and tomatoes (S)
L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P)< spring onions, pickles (S)
D- KFC Friday (P), SW chips (F) whatever veg I buy later (S)
    Syns- Poets Day wine! 😋

Thank you for the ham @bubbs ! I will look for that tomorrow!

I really enjoy walking, I actually prefer getting the miles in after work as it really is a good destresser. Walked with a friend last night we maybe did 3.5- 4 miles. We powered walked one mile.

So today I am having a scan and I am not allowed to eat for 6 hours before but then I need to walk the pooch straight afterwards so I had breakfast this morning then a roll with ham and cucumber so things are a bit mixed up today but hopefully wont effect the scales. Tea tonight will involve a baked potato

    Have a good weekend!
