We had a walk today too but not in your league klew. Just about 7000 steps which is barely 3.5 miles. Hope the scan goes well. 😊
It was much colder here too bubbs but the sun came out on our walk which helped.  I've put the Uncle Ben's Sweet and Sour on the menu for tomorrow. I've never used it before.  Do you just add peppers, spring onions and chicken like it says on the jar?

I got my washing dry, dunno if i said that but on a new page now

I never put them in, i cooked chicken and onion, then put the sauce in and simmered it, then i turned it off and put fresh pineapple in and kept the lid on to warm it through.

They have gone up again now 🤬

Morning all.  A bit grey but decided to do some washing anyway - the bed needed changing.  Will get that out of the line after breakfast.

DH has run out of beer so looks like we need to go shopping again!  Nothing else needed though so it will just be the beer and out!

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up with low fat sausages - P; S; F; 2
L - Linda McCartney red onion and rosemary sausage sandwich (DH will have fish fingers) - HEB; F; 3.5
    D - lamb tagine (HM ready meal from freezer); couscous - P; S; F; 3

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Syns - sausages 2; butter 3.5; apricots/almonds 3

Have a good day everyone and keep safe.

    Morning all

Grey here too , i have washing in that i put in last night , not sure if it will dry out but will see .
DH had his jab yesterday and has not mentioned his arm hurts or anything, so i am not going to ask otherwise typical man style he will have everything wrong with him 🤣🤣
    Hope Sary is ok?

I had a brain wave last night , doesn't happen often 😂 what do you think?
I bought some strawberries yesterday, they looked really nice , but tbh don't taste as nice as they look but it got me thinking about strawberry tarts!
What if i whizz the oats , bind with an egg and blind bake, make a jelly up with half amount, place strawberries in and then the jelly, then in the fridge? Do you think the jelly will all seep through?
If i get time later i will try

I would think that would work bubbs as you're going to blind bake so the jelly shouldn't seep through.  Let us know how it turns out as that sound really nice.  I've got some individual tart cases so could give that a go and make some "proper" tarts for DH as he'd moan about oat pastry :) same as he did when I made waffles and pancakes with them!  I never bother with strawberries at this time of year as they are so tasteless - only good tasting ones are the English ones in the summer, even if they're still slightly under ripe.

There's a tiny bit of breeze here so hoping the bedding will dry; if not I'll bung it on the airer overnight to finish off.  Right off to remake the bed before I forget about it and end up having to make it just so we can go to bed, LOL!

    Hi everyone,

I didn't have any rum last night after all, but don't be thinking I've been polishing my halo as I made some banana muffins yesterday and had one of those instead. Have worked out they are 8.5 syns each, but tbh I'm well under for last week and yesterday was weigh day, so I figure it will work itself out over the week.
Went shopping to A!di this morning. Only trouble with getting there at 8.30am is the amount of stock being put out which makes social distancing a bit of a challenge....

    Food today:
    B - benefit bar - HEXB
L - JP (one left from last night as DS1 got takeaway), salad leaves, veg chilli - 1 syn
D - Mary Berry's Mexican tortilla bake - will be just under 15 syns a portion as uses tortillas, mascarpone and mozzarella. Will count the mozzarella in my portion as HEXA2. However I've wanted to make this for ages, and I can cut back over the week to adjust my syn count. Well, that's the plan anyway :)
    HEXA1 - milk for tea/coffee
Snacks - second benefit bar, apple, satsumas, grapes
    Total syns planned - 16

    Have a good day all,
    Coxy

Plenty of time to rein back coxy. The glory of having your WI day on a Friday is having treats at the weekend. 😊

Social distancing has been a bit of an issue in my Aldi  since Christmas. They seem to be short of staff and queues are building up the aisles as too few checkouts open. Then you have to squeeze between the queues to get to the shelves.  It seemed a bit better yesterday though perhaps people have been off sick and now coming back??

Years ago when I used to make flans for puddings (ready made sponge cases) I found the best way was to get the jelly to set PDQ bubbs.  I'd use  a bit less liquid than the recipe for stronger flavour and to get it to set faster.  So, a small amount of water to dissolve the cubes in a jug  and then add ice cubes up to the amount I wanted, keep stirring and it'll start setting quite quickly and you can pour it on the tarts. I think I might add a bit of sweetener to the oat mix too.  The worst that can happen is you end up with a sort of  soggy overnight oats mixture which would taste fine with a blob of yogurt on top!

We're having the  Uncle Ben's sweet and sour tonight. I'll syn half a jar each as not sure how much I'll need.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash, skinny syrup, banana (F), HEB porridge, HEA milk, raspberries (S)
    L- veggie omelette (P,S) with pickles (S)
D- sweet and sour chicken (P,S), brown rice (F)
    Syns- sauce 3, weekend wine😋

You'll sympathise with this denise. Yesterday, my car started making this awful rattling noise on the way home from Aldi. It's natural to assume it's something expensive although it's quite a new car. DH took it to garage this morning and it's just a stone caught in the wheel arch. Phew! Joys of living on an unmade road!😉

That made me LOL maman.  It's the sort of thing I'd think there was something wrong with the car!

We've got some new people moved in just along the road and they've been cutting trees downs and they've decided it would be a good idea to fill the potholes with the chipping!  When it rained they've all floated out of the holes and are spread all over the road - what a bloody mess!  I would have had something to say if they'd tried to do it outside my bungalow!

Oh yes maman, bit of sweetener, didn't think of that.
Can't do them right now as don't think DH is feeling well after his jab and is fast asleep on the sofa, the kenwood would wake him up. I did ask him earlier if he didn't feel well as he was rubbing his face, don't know about you but i always do that when i don't feel well, he said yes felt awful :(
