Hi everyone and happy hump day back at you Coxy. Pleased to hear you can get on with some work today and hope the thumb recovers quickly. Loving the CF, she’s so pretty and delicate. I went to bed before the end of A & E so spared the gore. I’ve suffered a little with the bookmarks as I’ve reached the ends. They won’t even fit in my smallest hoop and I just stitch without stopping then wonder why my fingers ache! Nmm the virtual boot worked wonders, I’ve been steadily stitching every night after work and I think you’ll see the progress. Hope OH is okay and feeling a bit better. The bookmarks are a bit floppy for my taste. I think I’m going to add some white card and back with felt/fabric rather than just fraying the edges. Just a personal thing but I don’t like seeing the back either!I’ve been looking on the Bay of E for a set of DMC threads and also some bobbins to organise my existing colours before I buy any thread for Pretty Little cities. Good to read discussion about quality and best value. The thread in the bookmarks kits is not as good, (no identifiable brand or manufacturer) imho constantly knotting. Grrr! Out of interest where do you buy your Aida and Evenweave? Oh well enjoy the photos, nearly finished one. Coxy, have fun with the BABS, hopefully not too much of it. As i mentioned before i got the r&r lap frame and just lean it against me, i rarely hold it now, saves the thumbs aching.
Charly27, love the bookmarks not much to do now, robins are such a lovely bird, i see them often on our walk each dayI don't like the backs showing either so the felt sounds like a good idea.
OH is doing well, just waiting for the appointment on Tuesday and hoping we get some more answers. I've been doing more of the Junction and made my gonk's hat in sparkly purple woolCross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:1 -
Nmm the sparkly purple gonk’s sounds a wonder to behold. You must have a photo? I love my frame and it made a big difference to my hands.Bit down today so going to stitch even more tonight. I applied for another job and wasn’t even shortlisted. Disappointing. And I had to ask my boss for a reference so it’s even worse
Oh well, what’s for me will not pass me by!

Latest CF update from my phone:

Well that's a rubbish photo - sorry gang! Lighting here is a bit ropey today as it's wet and miserable outside. I'm nearly finished on the BABS - just need the final push - off work today and tomorrow so will crack on with it.
Sorry about the job Charly - disappointing too that you needed a reference from your boss just to apply. Same applies where I work (civil service). I've only been here 2.5 years, started as a temp then made perm after 6 months. I've often looked at higher/same grade jobs and thought about applying, but my confidence was badly affected by my last perm job, so the anxiety takes over and I don't apply.
Talking of work - it's been horrendous lately so I'm glad of the time off. Have the car being serviced and MOT'd tomorrow. We got it on a PCP deal last March and haven't really been far in it due to the lockdown. What's the betting they'll find something wrong with it lol.
Anyway, hope you're all going okay and that nmm's OH continues to improve.
New photo to follow

Aww coxy, the fairy is looking adorable, my friend lost her dog today so just what i needed to see
I will take a photo of the gonk's hat, i'm half way through his body. Well OH had the Hematology Specialist on Tuesday an 80 mile round trip, all he did was ask a few questions, prod his stomach and take some bloods
Said we'll get some results in 3 weeks and he wants him to have a CT, he already did 3 weeks ago
He feels well generally just the lump is annoying at times, more wait and see.
Take care ladies and happy crafting, i promise a more crafty update next time.Cross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:1 -
Oh no nmm, your poor friend. Seems to be the season for it as DSis dog only has days left - terminal cancer
That's a long trip for you and your OH, you must have both been exhausted. Glad that he feels well though, that's something.
No stitching yesterday as I walked 5km with my neighbour - haven't seen her for a proper chat in a year! Then cooked tea and watched the second part of Finding Alice - neither DH or I were too invested and have decided not to bother with the last four episodes.
Have just dropped the car for it's service and MOT, will pop out for milk and few other bits and then the day is my own yippee!
Might just be a 'ta-dah' moment later

Had some stitching time after my trip to the shops - drum roll please........
Ta-Dah!I have even wound the spare threads on my bobbins
Still can’t get hold of the mag nmm - have now tried Tesco, WHS and Sainsbobs. No regular newsagents here only convenience shops with TV mags
Oh well, I have plenty of other projects to be getting on with!
Have a good evening all,

She’s so beautiful Coxy. Thanks for commiserating with me over the job. But we’re all in good health and both in FT permanent employment. The kitchen has stalled again this week but we have made progress. We unpacked the worktops and both 3m lengths were damaged on the front edge. It is as though they have been strapped and it has left indentations. The company have agreed to collect and replace thankfully but it won’t be for another week. So we have new oven in and also the units under the old sink. Old worktop balanced on all but at least we have hob, oven and running water.Nmn that’s a long journey for you and OH but at least he’s generally well. Sorry to hear about your friend’s dog. And your DSis dog too, Coxy. It is so hard to lose those fur babies.
Have finished and backed Robin bookmark #1 will take photos & post before end of weekend. It’s been a dull couple of days so hoping for brighter light.
