Hi everyone,
Glad OH is on the mend nmm and they know what the issue is. Hope you don't have to wait too long for the CT scan xx
Card is lovely Charly - love he colours, and I'm sure your DMum will love it too
No stitching for me these past few days but I plan to do some this afternoon. Need to clean the bathrooms first (and enlist help!). We have light snow here and it's very cold, but I'm not going anywhere today so all good.
Keep warm and stay safe.

Hi ladies, i hope you got some stitching done Coxy. Has anyone had any proper snow, nothing here but ice and rain. Managed a bit more on The Junction, ordered a few threads that i'm running short of, hopefully thats all i need to finish it.

Looking lovely nmm. Very cold with heavy frosts but not much proper snow in Norfolk. DM did like her card. Can’t wait to finish the bookmarks. For something so small they’re fiddly. Not many large areas. I twigged it’s easier to switch between the two and stitch simultaneously so I can use thread once I’ve threaded my needle. Took me a few days to work that out!‘One of our greatest freedoms is how we react to things’ said Mole.Cross stitch cafe TaDa Enjoy the Little Things, WIP Love cats, ‘A Year in the Life of’ HSC July-December and The Seasons graphic sampler. I hate fiddly projects, my favourite was all cross stitches with no BS was so easy to do. The junction has petite stitches in it which are fiddly too it's 4 small x in the space of 1 normal X, which is why i'm using evenweave. Good idea with the thread anything that saves time is worth itCross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:1

Sorry for being AWOL - work has been really busy since Christmas and we've lots of junior staff who require supervision on-call. One of them rang me at 1:30am one night this week so I could go through the answer I had given him earlier as he wasn't sure it was right! Trying to sort out mmol and percentages when only half awake isn't easy!
Charly, your card is lovely (and, yes, they are poinsettias on mine).
Nmm, the bear is very cute, and, I agree, back stitch makes all the difference. I hope your husband gets the investigations and treatment he requires, I know that hospitals are still struggling to manage anything other than emergencies.
Coxy, that fairy is done in a really pretty colourway.
I have done some more, pictures to follow..

This is actually a piece I did over Christmas. It is the only cross stitch I have ever done that was pre-printed (bought by mistake). It did work up a lot faster than usual without the counting. I have only just soaked it to get the ink out, I was quite concerned that the fabric would stain or the thread run but it was fine. I think this cost about £6 from Amazon - I haven't bought cross stitch from Amazon before and didn't realise what a problem there is with copyright breaches, but thought since I had it I might as well stitch it. It is called hibernate.

This is part of my sister's birthday present. It's by Fido stitch designs, who sell through Ebay. I have done quite a few of their animal designs - they are always well received as presents. I would have chosen a smaller frame if I had been shopping for one but this was the best I had in waiting to be used! It is exactly the same colour as my sister's staffie.

I filled a coffee jar (Douwe Egberts) with Riesen chews (2 bags for £1.60 from Farmfoods) and stitched a monogram in assisi work as another part of my sister's birthday present. I realised when I reached the bottom that I had miscounted at the top and put an extra couple of stitches in one side but decided not to frog it. Isn't there an Amish saying, 'only God is perfect'? I often think that when I fudge things a bit! I think this counts as money saving! I would have definitely spent more on a box of chocolates!

Final picture for this evening - my sister's birthday card. I am going to invest in some lightweight quilt batting to put behind my stitching in cards when the local haberdasher is open again. We had a volunteer at work who stitched beautiful cards and always used it behind her stitching, it gave it a padded look. I have to admit this was done in a rush so wasn't my best effort! My sister will appreciate the chocolate cake I spent the time baking more than the card!
There may be some more tomorrow if I have time -7 pieces completed this month!1 -
Wow Betasam you’ve been really busy. I love the finished pieces - think my fave is the fox 🦊 We get them in our garden and they are lovely creatures although they do make a noise at night!
Quick update from me as work has been crazy this week and I’ve only managed to stitch today:Hope everyone is okay and that your OH is continuing to improve nmm.Coxy xxCross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings1
