Thanks nmm - finished last night so ta-dah photo to follow :)
Your OH has really been through the mill but I'm glad that you have a treatment plan in place. I expect the home plans are taking your minds off things too - such a busy but exciting time for you both. The Junction looks lovely - so serene.

I spent some time (down the rabbit warren) on P!nterest yesterday, looking for a suitable design for the wedding card. They are a young couple - I've not met the groom - so I didn't want anything too traditional. Have found a design which I can adapt to show their names and the word love (with a heart for the O) like those scrabble pictures people have? I'm going to use teal and silver threads as that is their wedding theme colour. Annoyingly I couldn't find my pad of graph paper last night - know it's around somewhere but couldn't find it grrr. Also realised that despite having a cull during lockdown (2?) of my mags and stash, I still have too much. Books and mags that I have had for years and won't be needing. I can feel another cull coming on! (and off to Ally Pally on Friday....will I ever learn lol).

Anyway, I'll give the card a go - shouldn't take too long - if it looks naff I'll just buy one. Wedding is on 23 Oct so I have a bit of time.

    Have a good day all,
    Coxy xx

Thanks nmm - yes - go me :)

    Hi all!
Well yesterday was the trip to the K&S Show at Alexandra Palace. I'd bought the tickets for Mum and I and had an email from them on Wednesday afternoon giving a reminder of their Covid safe procedures for the day:
    • Allocated entry times to avoid queues
    • Need to show fully vaccinated status with app or card from jab clinic
    • Negative LFT test, registered with gov.uk if not fully vaccinated
all pretty bog standard stuff for a large venue with a lot of people attending. Slight problem in that DMum is an anti-vaxxer (don't get me started...) so I had to break the news to her that she would have to get a test from the pharmacy and set up an account to register it. Cue lots of eye-rolling (on WA video call) and protesting that "it's a b****y joke" and "I'm sick of this...." from DMum. DH was in the kitchen yelling "get vaccinated then!" which wasn't helpful. Luckily DMum couldn't quite hear him. Anyway, she did what she was told (carrot and stick) and all good. In fact, the security staff barely even glanced at her negative test email.

We met at London Victoria and I was wearing a mask (for train and underground travel) and she was maskless. Her first words to me were "why are you wearing a mask?" - not "Hi, how are you, have you been waiting long, good to see you etc." And breathe......

Anyway I digress(!) The show was much smaller than in previous years, for obvious reasons. Lots of regular large companies didn't have stands this year which was a pity. I only purchased two things: a biscornu kit from the Cross Stitch Guild stand, which Mum kept picking up and saying she liked. That will form part of her Christmas present along with a ceramic yarn bowl I got from ETsy last week. I also bought 3 glass angel Christmas tree decorations for us.

I was really tempted by some gorgeous embroidery kits by Beaks & Bobbins, but I really doubt I could make them look as lovely as they do. The kit was £26 and DMum was trying to get me to buy one, but I walked away. Don't think my eyesight could cope with the detail which is a shame.

So nothing added to my stash - yay - and now need to have a look at what I have in terms of charts to see what to start next.

Is anyone up for doing a Christmas card exchange this year please? If you could let me know by end of October, I can make a start on the arrangements. Thanks.

    Enjoy your weekend all,
    Coxy xx

oh dear coxy, not the fun time you hoped for with your mum, my friend going through chemo refuses to have the vaccine also, yet they are the prime candidates, she travels too so has to do full quarantine etc. My OH and i are fully jabbed, he's due the booster any day now. At least the show was good and well done for not adding to your stash :) A big yes to the card exchange, my address will be the marina, haha.

More done on the Junction, i'll grab a photo later as its sunny today YAY.

Go Coxy. Love the sampler and plenty of time to wash and press before Christmas. I am drawn to HSC, but got plenty to do. Well done for not adding to your stash at the show.
So sorry to hear that the K&S show didn’t live up to expectations, mainly due to the stress of managing Dmum. Your description did have me crying with laughter though I have every sympathy with you. It’s just you described it so eloquently especially DH shouting in the kitchen. Just what could happen here.
Nmm, looking forward to seeing the junction updates. I’ll take and share a photo of PL Dublin progress.
I’m happy to do card exchange and don’t mind sending it to ‘the marina’ if I draw you. How exciting!

I’d like to say nearly there but I’ve still gone a lot to do.

Moooooorning! Happy Monday and all that....!

Glad I made you laugh Charly - I do despair at DMum sometimes. Well actually I despair a lot of the time, but that's a whole other story! Can well understand your friend not wanting the vaccine if they're going through treatment nmm, but DMum is just being militant. Guess we will all be like that one day. Ooh a floating address, how fab :)

Loving PL Dublin Charly - so detailed and the colours are fab. You must be well over half way now?

Saturday was spent running errands. Bought a few bits and bobs to send to DD at uni - I'm trying to send a regular goodie box - just sweets and little bits and bobs to keep her mood in good shape. DH and BIL were at our rental property changing the manky 1970s patio doors to new swanky French doors. Tenants were really happy and gave us potatoes and carrots from their allotment :) It was a lovely day here but unfortunately I succumbed to a minging headache all day and despite dosing myself up, it was still their at bedtime :(

Sunday we went for a food shop, did some housework, and then I put away the threads from Rudolf and tidied up my stash. I have some mags for DMum, some bits to Eb@y, and a bag for the charity shop. Feeling virtuous. One thing I did find was a Hobbycr@ft kit to make 3 x sequined Christmas pudding baubles. Must have bought this at least 5 years ago. Half made one bauble and then gave up/ran out of time/lost patience etc. So I sat merrily last night and finished the first bauble and started a second. It's actually quite therapeutic.

Still undecided what to start next, but all my charts/kits are now together, along with aida and linen, so it won't take me long to dig something out. Maybe another PL scene - I have Tokyo, Italy and Amsterdam still to do.....

    Have a good day everyone,
    Coxy xx
