Welcome back to Blighty Coxy. I hope your Dad had his scheduled surgery and is comfortable in ICU now. Sounds like a turbulent time for you and your sis. For what it’s worth I think you’ve both done brilliantly . Be kind to yourselves it will still be there when and if you are ready. I hope you find some relief from the pain. Nmm the junction update looks fab. Slipped that sail boat news in nonchalantly how exciting.
I will try yo post an update before I have my long awaited leave at the end of August next week. Very excited to see my mum after a year. Also going to see DSS and DIL as well as having two nights, just me and DH in a cottage. He’s had all of August off so he’s cracked on with a lot of jobs. We have built a gazebo to give us much needed shade on our south facing decking. It’s only taken us 15 years. Good time to buy garden furniture in the end of summer clearance.

DDad didn't have his op last Wednesday as a pre-op x-ray on Tuesday showed a mass on his lung. The hospital have taken a biopsy and we are waiting for news. Hoping we might hear something today. DDad is very bored and the hospital is 2 hours drive from home so Stepmum can't visit.
DSis and I had planned to resume the walk today but given we don't know yet what will happen re: DDad we're still in limbo. She had a scan on her ankle on Thursday which showed an Achilles injury, so it might just be me walking and her driving a support vehicle. 
On another note, nmm are you planning on going to Yarndale this year? I have reserved a hotel in Skipton for the Friday and Saturday nights - not paid yet. Tickets are on sale and you get a timed slot to enter. For Saturday there are only afternoon slots left.

Coxy, i'm sorry i don't think i'll make yarndale this year, we finally got the op date for my OH its next Friday, if all goes well he'll have a few weeks recovery time. Ah the boat, it's been stood for a couple of years, the previous owner was an old man and his cat as you can imagine it was a bit neglected. Lots of cleaning has taken place and its looking much better, we will be living in the marina once its sorted. 

No stitching done at all but i'll make up for it next weekend.

nmm - no problem at all
about Yarndale. We heard from Cyprus today that Dad has lung cancer. Still shocked and stunned and have known since 8am I will probably be heading back out to Cyprus shortly so think it best I cancel my hotel. So glad your OH has a date for his procedure. Hope everything goes well xx The boat looks amazing. I was expecting a narrow boat for some reason!!

Hi all, we’re still away until tomorrow but just wanted to pop on having read both your posts. Big hugs Coxy in the face of the diagnosis for your Dad. I hope you can get back out to Cyprus quickly. Be so good to get all of the information and just be there with him. 

The sailboat looks amazing in that photo Nmm however I’m no nautical expert. 

I hope all goes well for the op on Friday and OH has a steady but speedy recovery. Keep us posted.

Thanks ladies, sorry to hear about your dad Coxy, hope he can get some treatment they can work miracles these days. Yes we were originally looking at narrowboats but decided we didn't want to be restricted by inland waters, go big or go home!!!

Indeed nmm - the boat is amazing! How is your OH doing?
I'm flying back to Cyprus tomorrow - have a one way ticket as I'm not sure what will happen with Dad. Good news is that the cancer hasn't spread. They plan to operate early next week to remove part of his lung. I'm hoping he will be able to come home once recovered and then we can discuss what happens with radio therapy etc. and the heart surgery.
I'm due back at work on 13 Sept and boss has said I can take my laptop with me to work from Cyprus if needs be. This means I'll be able to keep in touch with friends more easily too.
Will update when I can.

Coxy hopefully you’ll be in Cyprus now with your DDAD. So please that the cancer seems to be contained. The operation sounds uncomfortable but hope he has a speedy recovery. Lovely to have an understanding boss.

Sorry been awol for a couple of days, coxy hope you arrived safely and fingers crossed your dad's op goes well. Nice to hear your boss is letting you WFH, thats great one less thing to worry about.

Charly, PL dublin is coming along now, so pretty. I got a little cross stitch kit from a friend for the boat, i'll photograph it later.

Boat almost sorted inside now which we wanted to get done before Friday, so just the outside to clean but no rush for that, take care ladies

Sorry for the lack of posting, OH's op got postponed last week it is going ahead tomorrow *fingers crossed*, with the extra week we've been at the boat most of the time getting it all cleaned up, over 20 bin bags of rubbish thrown out!!!! My lovely friend gave me a cute seagull kit as a little boat gift, i gifted her the welcome sign i made earlier this year for her shed
