loving the Zippy needle minder
  • Welcome back Coxy. Hope you’re settling back. Did you make it back before your DD returned to Uni?
Just to echo Coxy, how’s OH nmm?
Quietly stitching PL Dublin each night whilst watching Chelsea and M@rtin Cl&nes in Manhunt. Spent my remaining £35 vouchers (had them nearly 3 years) at a local garden centre at lunchtime on a Japanese anemone and 4 lovely new houseplants. One of my 21 in 21 was to fill the house with plants I love. At the moment it’s mostly peace lilies divided from my original and spider plants with a couple of gifted orchids and a reduced price Swiss cheese plant bought in a sale! Will spend an hour or so tomorrow distributing them. Enjoy rest of the week all.

    LOL about Zippy!
I had been wanting a needle minder for ages and couldn't make up my mind which one to buy. Found this one on Et$y and it's just perfect.
Love the talk of houseplants Charly - I have several orchids gifted over the years from the children, and they never cease to amaze me with their beautiful flowers. Especially given you need to cut them right back once they finish.
DH went off at 3am(!) so tonight I will be stitching and watching the SCD launch show as was flying when it was broadcast on Saturday. I know who is paired with who, but will be nice to indulge in the glitz and glamour! I have recorded Manhunt - no spoilers please!

Hi ladies, sorry for the recent absence, OH is recovering well from his op, all scars healing nicely, he got the drain removed last wednesday, that made it more comfortable. We found out a couple of days ago that the lump was cancer, he now needs more tests to see how much is affected and will be starting chemo in the near future. We're still moving onto the boat, everything is almost sorted with it and our house is in the process of being sold, onwards to new adventures :)

Right sorry mods, back to stitchy news, i have done a little more of the junction but progress has been slow due to painting the whole house, I HATE painting!!! I will get an update photo soon, Coxy loving the rudolph sampler and zippy, is your mum joining you at AP? Charly, i have several spider plants too, a MIL tongue, money tree, peace lilly and a aloe vera, mostly gifted think i only bought 2 of them.

Take care ladies, catch up again soon.

Hi all. Nmm so pleased to hear that OH is feeling more comfortable and healing nicely. Not good news regarding the diagnosis but at least now you know and treatment can start.
No wonder you haven’t had time to stitch much if you’re in the throes of painting. I hope that goes well, it’s the glossing I detest! However, OH thinks I’m better at it or at least he says that.
Very exciting news regarding the house move. Everything crossed for a speedy sale. Hope you haven’t too much to downsize and declutter.
Love the reindeer update Coxy. PL Dublin coming along, wasn’t finished in September but maybe in October 🤣

    Morning everyone,
nmm - glad to hear that DH is healing but I was sorry to hear the diagnosis. Like Charly says, at least now you know what you're dealing with and hopefully the chemo can kick it's a$$. Well done on all the painting - I don't mind it in small doses - just hate all the prep/rubbing down etc. Sooooo boring.
Charly - Ooooh setting a target for a finish - I LIKE it!! I'm hoping to be finished with Rudolf and Friends this week - just one side border to do now. Now I've said it, I need to actually do it!
Next project is a wedding card for the daughter of a friend. Wedding is 23 Oct and I haven't found a design yet, so will be looking this week for a freebie, fingers crossed I find something suitable.
Ally Pally on Friday with DMum - we are meeting at London Victoria around 10am. My first time on a train for months and hopefully not too busy. No specific needs from the show but there's a particular stall that I love and she doesn't have a website, so I'm looking forward to seeing what goodies she has. She mainly stocked American designs like Lizzie Kate but I think LK have stopped producing. Anyway she's listed as having a stand, so I'll go along and see what's what.
Will pop an update photo on in a bit.
    Have a good day all,
    Coxy xx

Thank you ladies, we got a letter this morning saying atm its classed as stage1S which is great news S just means affecting the spleen. They did say the growth was unusual for the type of lymphoma, but the numpty did injure his spleen doing judo a couple of years ago. Will know more on Wednesday.

Coxy, enjoy Ally Pally pleased your mum is joining you. I'll look for a chart too if you like, what sort of style are you thinking.

Charly, lucky we don't have much to get rid of, the furniture is over 15 years old so can either be sold cheap or given away. My wool stash has filled a 110L plastic storage tub, i think i have a problem, my cross stitch stuff is in another box, lol. Fingers crossed for an October finish :)

In stitchy news, i have managed to do a bit more on The Junction than is pictured, the photo is from a few days ago.
