Hello Everyone! Popping in briefly to say a belated “Hi!” to friends old and new, and to say may I join again, please? In the last six months I put back all the weight I lost in the first half of last year. Since I failed miserably last quarter, could you please put me down for a 7lb target, Brambling? Thank you. Most of the Christmas goodies have gone now, and in the interests of helping my dog walk nicely on the lead, I shall be walking faster when I take him out. Wine and chocolate are banned until I reach my target weight - which is another 2 stones off.
Like dumpling I’m going back to writing down my daily food as it really helped me previously, so:Today’s menu
B : porridge with blueberries
S : 2 small hm mince piesL : ham & tongue sandwich with ham soda bread; tangerine
D : roast chicken leg (from Sunday’s bird), sprout top greens, green beans & another veg; raspberries & cream (using up clotted cream - it’s tough, but somebody has to do it, and there’s only me and the dog here!)“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Morning all, emotional eating took over last night. Starting today a fresh. Started off on a run this morning but one leg went one way the other...well you can guess. 😲Black ice on the road so tiptoed gently back indoors.B - skyr, blueberries and a SW bar
D - Chunky cod in batter, oven chips and roasted leftover cherry tomatoes, hubs birthday meal, healthier hopefully than from chippie and saves the need for going out unnecessarily
T - egg on toast.‘It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine’ - Winnie the Pooh7 -
Hi everyone
I have just made a broccoli and stilton soup for lunch but I have put loads of cheese in as we still have a small cheese mountain left over from Christmas. It will taste delicious though and I won't have any bread with it.
My meals today are:
b - weetabix and toast with marmalade
l - broccoli and stilton soup
d - sausage and mustard linguine
s - cake and fruit
I also succumbed to emotional eating last night after Boris' announcement. I have picked myself up though this morning and will make the best of it. It will be hard not seeing my daughter and her boyfriend for a while but I do want this virus to go so will buckle down.
Hope you all have a great day today, take care xx

HI Blue
it wouldn't be the same without you my friend
TC77 I either have a more generous portion of soup or a large mug with crackers or a small amount of crisps which add the saltiness and crunch.
Roblou / Dumpling I think the thought of another lockdown effected a lot of us, especially as we could be looking at March before it's removed which will mean a year of this. I understand the need to do it but as a singleton i find it difficult sometimes to work from home and live alone

Brunch - 2 soft boiled eggs
Tea - will be Chicken Tagine, from the BSD cookbook.8 -
need2bthrifty, I can thoroughly recommend the M R compact. It is no bigger than a kettle, very reasonably priced, very efficient and a Which Best Buy.
Blue, so good to see you back....slobber, slobber, mwah, mwah. I have so missed the chance to be downright rude to someone. (Rushes off to look up some fresh insults.)
I would stay and chat, but the kitchen timer has just gone off and the delicious smell from the kitchen tells me that my loaf is ready to come out of the oven.
Will I be eating fresh, warm bread with butter this evening? Almost certainly.
Will I suffer with indigestion? Absolutely certainly.
Is it worth it? YES YES YES!I believe that friends are quiet angels

Thanks for ideas, had soup on its own, think easier when chunky and not smooth. But then out of need for distraction from news or back to work opened oatcakes which I nibble not realising the number disappearing, only to reappear on my waistline ! One aim is to do mindful eating so not when working or watching TV but it's remembering and no absentedly taking a handful of nuts7

I can also recommend a soup maker! The one I have makes 3-4 bowls depending on the portion which I find is just enough so I’m not getting fed up! I love how quick it is. I usually make smooth soups in it so I can just roughly chop my veg and Chuck in.Porridge, potato and leek soup and cottage pie for tea then once kids in bed will try for 30mins on exercise bike.

The fish turned out to be a smoked haddock so had it quite simply poached in milk and served with some green veg and an oatcake - lovely.
Monnogram - the M R soup maker was the one I was thinking of and I could probably get it click & collect from an nearby @rgos.
Roblou27, I hope there isn't any lasting injury from your Bambi imitation this morning. I discovered we have the same problem here when I got the car out of my drive, but managed to safely get to the park for a nice brisk walk - its just a couple of miles but at least I’m moving.
I haven't been shopping since the 29th Dec so needed some fresh stuff and the nearest was Sainsbugs - it was 11.30am and OMG it looked as though it had been raided, I walked around the F&V section not quite believing what I was seeing then another gob-smacked look came on my face when the only fizzy water available was that expensive italian one - eek!! - All I can say is - A POX ON ALL THOSE PANIC BUYERS AND I HOPE THE PRODUCE ROTS IN YOUR DRAWERS !!#@~<%$>!!
